Title: A couple questions..

I discovered that when I have no items in my inventory and I press "i," the game saves even if I'm not on a stairway and recreates the level upon reloading. If I die after doing this, the char dump displays the line: "The world crashed on Abadx X times." Is this a bug or a "feature?"

Also, does SoaB work with melee? The game just says "1 more damage" and the info on the wiki leads me to believe that it's only for ranged weapons.

That's a bug. It's the game crashing when there's an empty inventory. The saving bit is a feature to prevent bugs from killing characters. So... Both.

Also, SoaB does increase melee damage.

the empty inventory bug is a marvelous, though risky way to scum !@#$-TONS OF XP in AoB.

regular savescumming doesn't give you !@#$-tons of extra experience. the empty inventory trick allows you to run a given level as many times as you want/can survive, with the opportunity to gear yourself to the max 'cause the level resets every time. if you really wanted, you could run a scum file to start it off, but this is a very different process.

normally, i would agree, and note that i don't even bother with this trick unless i happen to HAVE an empty inventory in AoB. Furthermore, i usually(read: always) die anyway. i'm not a scumbag; the only time i EVER really scummed doomrl was on the steps to the cathedral in an AoLT game. good thing too, because berserk didn't proc the first time, and that just wasn't fair :P

Unrelated question, straight outta left field, but what level should I expect to see a thermie on? I just had five games in a row with only one thermie.

Pff. I've only ever seen three nukes in the entire time I've been playing.

I recall playing a game where I found at least 3 nukes. In the one game.

i find nukes often enough, but rarely do i find the inv. globe on dlvl24 to justify using them.
