18 kills you might be able to pull off with a shotgun, a pain elemental, and probably invulnerability (or at least berserk) on any floor. 9 kills wouldn't be that hard on the early floors of UV, you'd just wait for the enemies to group in the center of the level and shoot a rocket. Both would be even more plausible on AoMC.

Yeah. Thematically it's kind of nice that you are CONSTANTLY RAGING RAAAH STILL RAGING RAAAH NOT DONE RAGING YET RAAAH, but add it to list of reasons a brevity mode would be nice for experienced players.

I am not the dev team, but I'm fairly sure this is deliberate game balance - otherwise, Juggler would allow shotgun users to cycle through a dozen different weapons and never have to worry about reloading in the middle of battle. This would make the shottyman trait redundant, and take away one of the key differences between shotgun and rapid fire builds. Juggler is designed for more jack-of-all-trade builds or complicated maneuvers like eg. shotgunning an enemy out of splash range, rocketing them before they can step back in, and then finishing them off with a chaingun that you have spare ammo for.

I swear, the RNG just did not want to give me a combat shotgun. I was already falling behind on time after searching the first few levels, but then I saw two berserk packs close to the red stairs and thought WHAT THE HECK. The loot on the other side included two rocket launchers ... and two regular shotguns. I promptly blasted myself in the face with a rocket and charged an arachnotron/demon combo with 50% health.

Let's call this a 50/50 blame share.

Okay, so maybe it doesn't make realistic sense and I don't know the first thing about nuclear weaponry. However! Explosive + heat = BOOM is solid video game logic and I stand by my faint feeling of disappointment after (sort of) accidentally dropping one in lava and having nothing bad happen.

a) It would be hilarious.
b) It makes sense.
c) It would give AoRA players an extra tactical advantage in that they could actually use the nukes they found.

If you're going to try for the gold medal next (AoRA 100% kills), I'd recommend going for Gun Kata over Fireangel. Combat shotguns reload fast enough if you're mostly shooting around corners, and it's harder to find enough rockets to take down all the tougher enemies in Phobos Hell when you have a time limit and kill requirement to finish special levels. Getting enough exp for decent pistol bonuses should still happen even on HNTR if you're killing everything.

P.S. Don't forget the nuke activates even after death, so you could have gone out in a blaze of glory against the cyberdemon and still had a partial win. :)

Aaaaaand I just reproduced it after getting mauled by a demon in Hell's Arena (same access violations). It looks like the death/nuke part which is glitching if you skip it too fast.

I was playing AoRA, flooded a room with acid, ran away wounded, was caught by an imp next to barrel. All as normal. Then I quickly tapped enter to get back the main menu, but at some point during the barrel explosion > death animation > nuke explosion > mortem display the game crashed.
