That cybernetic/robot model looks pretty cool -- it has a very Fallout-esque feel to it.

Have you considered rendering a more complex scene?  You seem to focus heavily on macro shots, maybe something with a larger field might help with training your eye for shadows and posing?

How's this laptop? I used an instance of one of the foes on the ground level which is why they have the same pose.

A new set, and a new foe.

I almost feel sorry for our brother in arms.

Hmmm... not sure about the pointy-eared goblin face though.  But your shadow work is definitely improving!  =)

I've started to use Image Based Lighting when I'm doing exterior scenes or if my set has windows.

As for the goblin, I've been playing Elder Scrolls Online with my friend lately, and I guess I let it slip into this one like I was doing for a while when the two of us were playing Star Trek Online.

Here's a few of my new ideas, mostly messing around with lighting.

In fact, the last one is hot out of the render engine having be creating just this afternoon.

(P.S. To those here who observe Memorial Day, I hope you had a happy and safe one.)

Heyo!  Sorry for not replying to your previous posts -- had been rather busy lately.  I like the latest render, but I'm not sure if the motion blur works as well here.  Maybe have him run and gun and apply the motion blur to give it more dynamism as opposed to just the swinging of hands?

As always though, good work -- I always enjoy seeing the stuff you put out!  =)

Have to agree with you on the motion blur, however it was my first use of the script so I decided to try and keep things simple at first.

Just found a plugin for the program I use to make my renders that lets me do motion-blur effects while using the iray render engine. Here's the result of my first time using it.

P.S. The outfit is new as well, and I missed the poke-though on the holster strap. Live and learn.

Knocked this out last night when I should have been trying to get some rest for work today.

Looking good. I like the play of light and shadows.

Thanks for your kind words laptop.

To try and help with things I've decided to dedicate this months beginner's contest entry to his memory.
Our task this month involves replicating poses from an image, and I'm using something that ties into one of the things that he had loved in life, riding motorcycles.

As I type this, I have version 1 rendering.
