Title: Badge not Awarded
Post by: light_horizon on September 01, 2012, 19:42
Was playing AoP on Hurt Me Plenty; the description of the challenge says the goal is to nuke the Spider Mastermind.  I did this, but I didn't kill JC.  But that wasn't the goal for the challenge.  May be worth rewording the goal if this is intended?

So what I don't get is the whole circumstance.  Are you invulnerable when nuking the Spider Mastermind and then died to JC?

I'm assuming you were playing AoPc? AoP is Angel of Purity...

Anyway, in case the badge you wanted was Pacifist Silver Badge, the goal there is "Complete Angel of Pacifism". Nuking the Mastermind and then dying to JC is considered a failed run for the purpose of badges that need you to complete the game.

I think we can consider this a bug. This is awfully counter-intuitive, as well as being a beginners trap.

I think we can consider this a bug.
Quote from: Known Bugs Sticky
  • I got a full victory, but I didn't get any badges or medals for it. What the heck?
    • This is intentional: a full victory does not imply that the game has been "won". There are conditions by which the game will award you a standard or full victory, but without surviving the full-victory boss: in these cases, you will not receive badges or medals that require you to complete the game. Note that, in a later release, partial victories may also differ from standard victories in terms of awarding certain badges and medals.
More importantly, partial, standard, and full victories are going to mean something outside of a checkbox stat in newer versions. DO note, however, that trying your hand at JC and dying to him, in spite of getting past Mastermind, is not a victory: gotta go all-or-nothing. This will be more explicitly defined later on.

Running around waiting for invincibility to run out so you can nuke to win? Idk, it seems strange.
Even if you considered it a feature, if your users consider it bugs, you may want to change it.
