If you want sound in your video, try using hypercam or so. The filesize will be much bigger though...

For the record, I think that after this (http://forum.chaosforge.org/index.php?topic=1608.0), I'm going to start recording all my games and posting the sweet ones. I'm not even a very good player by any standard, but I seem to have this knack for winding up in, and pushing through, completely batshit situations. I don't want to just tell everyone I beat half of Hell with my bare hands, they need to see it.

Because getting to L15 AoB is the last thing I need, that's what all my characters are going to be. Because I should already have it, they will all be named Guts Man, after the auspicious marine who did the deed in such a bombastic fashion that the gods would not allow his story to end. I will be recording all of them, and posting the ones that I am particularly proud or ashamed of. And so, here begin The Guts Man Chronicles!

Notice the end of L4. I know there's something bad over there, I just shut the door on it, but I've got this supercharge and I can't resist its siren call. After cleverly pulling away the first two, I foolishly dive into the fray, saved in the middle of the fight by the Berserker I just picked up. Although I won, this fight left me weakened at the start of the next level, which in turn caused another serious blunder. That one wasn't quite so bad though; sure, I could've just used another medpack, but the berserk pack was right there, and I had the running bonus. Be honest, how would you have handled that? :p

Note the bullheadedly stupid shotgunners on L2. Those idiots blew up my medkits! :(
Also note L3 where I specifically do not pick up a berserk pack. Won't do that again. -_-; You will note from this point on that I often completely skip large portions of the map. If you don't already know the score, this is because I heard bad noises coming from over there, and I am not Blade and have absolutely no illusions that I'm going to 100% this insanity. I hope Kornel or some equally awesome dude makes a DoomRL specific demo player so we can watch this stuff with sound someday.
L7: I love it when invuln sprees last exactly as long as you need them to. Barrel in face. Didn't save me from the same thing happening again like thirty seconds later, though. I'm proud of the way I handled the third encounter on this level: I was sure that shotgunner was going to blow me up again, but I swung wide enough to prevent it and managed to get between him and the foo before he could get a second shot off.
L8: I have a problem with doorways. It continually surprises me how good the running dodge bonus is. I often die before I can take any HR, yet imps and captains still pose little threat if I can hold my charge until the right time.
L9: Barrel + invuln = jetpack? Maybe I should start doing this on purpose. :p
L10/HA: Yeah, I'm a punk.
L11: Eight pinkies with no berserk. Thanks, RNG. Then, having learned my lesson about not taking berserk packs, I completely waste a berserk pack. >:(

Mostly just in AoB. Shorter LoS is always a good thing, and you can see when doors open on the map, so you know where humanoid enemies are rooting around.

Well... normally I wouldn't even put it here, but since I entered Lvl3 I knew I'm gonna do it.

So here goes another one called AoButcher. Why is that you may found in lvl 3. Apparently this time, lady luck shone really brightly on me, but yet, walking in Unholy Cathedral without an armor, was enough to lay mighty Berserker Butcher into waste.
As I was sitting watching my dead body, I was thinking, why have I even considered going there. I had the nuke, I was capable of outliving the levels till Cyberdemon, phasing out if needed... Longinus spear - what the hell. How much damage does it do anyways?

Oh well, so here are some notes for this very special run.
I haven't got so many crashes in 1 game since I installed. I ran through the first round without many troubles (on NTR it was a lot harder which is kind of interesting - I suppose it's because of the chaingun being spawn in the 2nd floor), then I experienced my first crash. Oh well, not too bad, I had so much ammo I could pave my garden with it.
Somewhere on lvl 16 another crash appeared. Yeah, that really sucked. Yet I continued playing again, I sweeped through the level and went down.
On level 6 of hell my last crash almost made me mad. On 15th floor I found Missile Launcher, then Minigun on 20. Yet, my ammo batteries were falling down quickly and I didn't have my beloved Thermonuclear bomb...
Somehow I was able to conserve ammo after I reloaded the game after that last crash and made it to lvl 9.
There I was, Full BFG, 4 Rockets in Missile Launcher, 15 ammo in Minigun and 42 in Plasma rifle... only 1 Large medkit though.
But well, I was able to outlive the Big C at the last minute - next shot would have killed me :D.
So to sum it, I have never seen so many Artifacts, and also so many bad events - crashes.
I have made some short recordings of the 2nd and third part at which point I was so pissed off I wasn't able to make the last one. But oh yeah, he's dead fortunately.

Here's my first demo, UV normal game with 100% kills. Didn't visit half the special levels though...I didn't feel like going into the vaults and ruining the 100%, I didn't have the ammo to take on the mortuary, and HA/CoS didn't appear.

This is me playing original rogue after a looong time... It's divided in two parts because I had to go somewhere so I had to save.
Watch how I totally get GOFE'd (Get owned from everywhere) after drinking a potion of blindness at dlvl 8... Hilarious! =D

The video that goes with my latest mortem. I go down all red stairs I see (Except for vaults to ruin my YAAM and lava pits because I didn't have enough envirosuits), use all weapons at least once (Except for the combat knife) and kill everything I find. I also show off some other stuff and point out the stupid things that I still do after all these years of playing.

So, long shot here, but is there any chance anybody saved the old demos from this thread? I'm getting back into the game now that I have my new rig, and I'd like to watch the Guts Man Chronicles, but Mediafire killed them. I could swear I had them saved someplace, but if I did, I've no idea where. :/

Managed a successful HMP Angel of Red Alert game. After doing that Masochism game before, I've become very lazy, so I make lots of mistakes, but oh well!
Video cuts out Around hell 2 or 3 when I spawn next to a bunch of formers and arch viles. Thought it was a good time to take a break, but forgot to press resume in dosrecorder when I got back :/ The group was actually no sweat, since running over to the right made them trapped against the lava at sniping range. Video resumes at lava pits.

It's basically telnetting to that Nethack server and massively record games in progress.

Kay, just got the gist of your video.
Tactical Errors:
You continued attempting to get difficult kills, even after you blew your chance to get a YAAM at the chained court.
You never got a rocket launcher. While iffy in regular combat, there's always a few times where you'll say "God damn it this'd be so much easier with rockets."
- Level 17 in particular was a rocket launcher level.
You're playing on AoI, use the extra space for something other than superfluous 10mm ammo.
- Oh, and you picked up too little cells, if I recall correctly. Lots and lots dropped but you always seemed to be running out.
You got EE 3. EE 3 is useless. EE 2 is okay if you really want your 10 shots to never miss though.
My god you are so cocky. Fighting Revenants at 10% HP. Moving in to uncharted territory with 10% HP. Doing anything but HEALING AND RUNNING FOR THE STAIRS!
If you want to play a plasma turret game (Stand still, mow down everything as it comes, only take offense-based traits) then either get Cateye or do it in a mode where you're NOT forced to take no healing with you.
So basically, if you want an AoI YAAM, get a rocket launcher (And use it liberally) and get a defensive trait or cateye.
If you just want to win, then stop being so agressive and bolt for the stairs whenever you're about to die, unlike level 20.

1.I always have this feeling that i'll run out of 10mm ammo with the chaingun
2.I don't like CE, yet, maybe i should try to get that sometime
3.Lots of power cells dropped? where?
4.Killing stuff = more exp = easier time, or so i think, i dunno
5.I don't care about YAAMs, yet, i just want to rise in rank to unlock all the challenge modes.
6.Rockets are "iffy" but i'll try to carry a few
7.I tend to not like having any other weapons besides my secondary and my primary
But, in AoI, at level 20, it was either go into uncharted territory and hope for some healing with most of the level gone, or get to the next level, hope for healing and an equal chance of more enemies. Running past stuff, IMO is just wasted exp, but i don't know.

EDIT2: Wow, rockets are more useful than i give them credit for. Killing lots of enemies and giving me a better chance at surviving when i'm on >20% hp is great
EDIT3:Looking back on my vid, i AM cocky. Killing 3 revenants while on 14% and trying to kill a baron while on 14%
