Off Topic / The Perfect Wedding
« on: June 18, 2012, 05:03 »
I recently had a conversation that sparked an amazing idea for a wedding.

Groom: Dressed as William Shatner in Star Trek
Best Man: Dressed as Spock in Star Trek
Groomsmen: Dressed as Red Suits - they're expendable

Bride: Dressed as a Jedi, with yellow lightsabre to match
Maid of Honor: Dressed as a Jedi, with light blue lightsabre to match.
Bridesmaids: Dressed as standard rebels, with blasters. Let's say they're from Yavin 4 time period.

As the red suits and the rebels usually get killed off during the climax of their respective enterprises (pun intended), a random alien will dispatch them during the vows. For extra points, have the priest play the role of this alien.

Any ideas or suggestions to improve this idea would be greatly appreciated.

I went to it and let google translate it into English (the page), and laughed enough from that that I'm afraid to watch the movie.

Your English is more than passable, and any kick in the pants inspiration you can give Kornel is greatly appreciated. :)

DiabloRL / Re: dialorl-svn build error
« on: June 01, 2012, 20:01 »
The libraries are being rewritten quite often, and sometimes they break syntax. If you really want it to compile, I suggest getting onto IRC on Quakenet, and joining #Chaosforge - epyon is the name you're looking for. Prod him a little bit and he can update the svn files to work, and give a bit of advise on which versions of things to use.

That being said, if you're just wanting to play the game, try this page, as there are downloads which may be of interest to you.

Im not a buguser)
Don't worry, it's not a bug. It's definitely intentional. It's not abusing something if it's intentional, right?

It's been awhile since I've played...are the teleport tiles still able to be destroyed?

There are a species of Real Estate agent that exists in the world. Not all subsets of this species are bad. But those that are bad tend to be pure evil.

Corpses disappear on door tiles probably because corpses were crushed by doors in Doom and this feature went to DoomRl in a bit modified way.
This.
Basically.
Also, why write a "corpse on a door" tile, and inherit all the interactions if you don't have to?

Congratulations. I am constantly amazed at how far being a bit of a completionist will take a person. Keep up the good work!

Requests For Features / Re: The Third Slot
« on: May 15, 2012, 05:59 »
As to the feature, it's a nice thought. I don't really feel it would add anything to the game as presented, and as suggested by others may detract from the game as presented. I would say 'review and rethink' if you're still keen on it.

None too shabby. Thanks very much for sharing!

Let me see. You're playing on Ultra-Violence, and you succeeded in a sacrifice full win, killing absolutely everything after going into nearly every special level. You may have gotten the Jackhammer (which makes everything easier) but you had to YAAM everything up to there. If that's a middle tier player, damn man. Those upper tier boys have brought their game up big time.

All it should take to get the achievements from here would be a bit of patience.
