I would say there are a few more builds than those listed in the OP.

One of the most powerful, in my opinion, is just to stock up on basic traits. Finesse, Hellrunner, Eagle Eye, Ironman, Reloader.. then you can go into a dual build.. get Shottyman and Triggerhappy, or Intuition and SoG, etc.

I was trying to find the city of skulls so I could get the badge for clearing it on AoRA, but I'm not sure I would have had enough time, anyway. I tried several special levels, and I had time to complete none of them. I did really well on the armory, beat Shambler, made my way all the way back, but apparently I had missed an enemy or two, and had to move on without getting to the cache. :\

This was my first time attempting the challenge, and I was surprised just how little time you really get. You have to focus right away on covering as much ground as possible to find the stairs, and if you find them early, you have the luxury to try to find some supplies. I was really low on supplies the whole game, and just had to make do with whatever I could find on my path.

If I had it to do over again, I probably would have started off with hellrunner, assuming that gives you more time to move..

I decided to go MAc, since the longer nature of Ao100 made it seem more viable to me for some reason. I was blessed with a very early onyx and nano pack, which I used to make lava boots and powered red armor. Those made life very, very nice for me. The weapon I used the entire game was just a vanilla plasma rifle (I don't know many assemblies yet), A1P2S1T1. I found a laser rifle which I modded with P3T2. I figured I could use it to shoot enemies out of sight range, but I never really ended up using it.

Other interesting finds: Berserker Armor, Malek's Armor, pretty much all the shields, and a very nice Acid Spitter / Acidproof boots combination. I was doing so well with my plasma rifle that I didn't bother with the acid spitter much, but I should have. Woulda been fun. :)

Congrats on AoLT! Not an easy challenge, though I suspect melee makes it the easiest. When I did it, I did a rapid fire build, and it was kinda sketchy. But the RNG gave me an onyx, too. :)

You saved on more levels than there were.....

That's due to the special levels.

But anyway, it's hard to get hyped up by a mortem when there's a bunch of saves involved, since there's no way to prove legitimacy. (Even saves aside...four and a half hours? I usually excuse either a really long game or a lot of saves, but not BOTH.)

Eh... different people play differently. I have several 4+ hour games. I like to plan out every move carefully, radar shoot every time I move, etc. That stuff takes a lot of time. Not to mention, I frequently take advantage of the fact that it's a turn-based game and leave the game running while I take care of something IRL. Naturally, the longer it takes you to play, the more likely it is that you'll need to save at some point (to go to work, sleep, whatever).

I've seen several of your runs on youtube and the speed you play at amazes me. I've resigned to the inevitability that I'm probably not ever going to get the speed running badges.. not even the easiest one.

Help me understand accuracy.

I'm running an ammochain build on Ao100 at the moment. I found a sniper weapon pack and thought it would solve all my accuracy problems, but I might be wrong. If I'm understanding this correctly, all it does is negate the accuracy penalty for range.

What this means is that an agility mod is actually superior to a sniper weapon pack at close range (+1 vs. +0), equal at medium range, and inferior at long range. Am I correct? What are good mods to put on a plasma rifle for my build (please, nothing higher than basic assemblies; haven't found them yet). I have a sniper weapon pack; maybe an agi to round things out? How much accuracy is enough?

Does acid resistance affect armor degredation, or just mitigation? I.e., acid damage degrades armor more quickly than other attacks. Does acid resistance actually slow down this rate of degradation?

Something's gotta go? Nah, not really. I took a shotgun along with my plasma rifle on AoLT and I wouldn't have used those slots for anything else.

Shells aren't as rare as a lot of people like to say they are. Not even in hell.

It amazes me that people don't think scout is the most OP class. Free intuition is huge.

The reason these traits are underwhelming is that damage is easily mitigated by skill and patience. Yet only traits (and lucky drops) allow the player to do a lot of damage to enemies in a short amount of time.

This is particularly a problem because you can just spend a few traits and get int 2, which is an order of magnitude better at preventing damage than any master trait.

Running man seems more like an advanced trait than a master, and perhaps MSv should get some kind of small across-the-board damage increase to make it more attractive. Because it requires so much more investment than any other master trait, it actually isn't viable to get both SoB and MSv before you beat a normal game. Maybe consider easing up on the prereqs a bit. 7 is a little steep.

Dualreloading with enemies in sight. Costed me a YASD vs a lava elemental HNTR last night, when the beast decided to walk towards me and melee instead of whacking me from a distance against fireproof red armor.

I'm playing a MGK build right now with combat pistol (P1) + GCB. I can't remember the last time I had to reload. And even if I do, it just changes the firing mode on the GCB. You have to reload them manually. It's kinda nice, really.

Here's a good habit I've been encouraging lately: any time I hear a mancubus, arch-vile, or revenant, I switch to red armor, even with my speedy dodge builds. (Not like you can dodge their attacks, anyway).
