Title: [M|AoOC/AoPc|4%|24|YASD] Why the fuck!
Post by: Orandulum on January 11, 2016, 01:33
Frankly I think AoPc is stupid and not fun. So when I learnt that dual angels give achievements I figured I'd just knock of the silver badge with AoOC and ignore AoPc from then on. I got pretty lucky and made it to the Mastermind on my first run. So I arrive at Dis, open my backpack for the nuke... only to find that I wasn't given one. I have checked to find that neither AoOC or AoCn give a nuke when paired with AoPc, so why the fuck is it even an option? Plenty of other dual angels compensate so why not this one?

I was momentarily very confused by your post because I thought you were talking about Angel of Purity.  (Angel of Pacifism is AoPc)  Also, the part where you said AoMC, I assume you meant AoOC, since combining Angel of Pacifism with Angel of Max Carnage would be horrifying!  ;)

Anyway, yeah, I've wondered why you don't get the nuke too; I assumed it was a feature for balance purposes or something?  Maybe someone on the Devteam can answer that, but it could be a bug?  As it is, the only way to win is to grab the Nuclear BFG from the Mortuary/Limbo.

Right I've edited it to the correct abbreviations. Didn't know about about AoP/AoPc but I did mess up AoOC because just before I'd done an AoOC/AoMC run because I figured it'd be ridiculous (It really is).

Well, considering that AoOC makes AoPc quite easier due to the 2/3 cut of game's length, it can be that not having the nuke is meant to compensate this difficulty drop. You have to find it yourself ...
And by the way, would the nuclear BFG even work at all here? AoPc is a "no weapon usage" challenge, after all ...

Yes, it works.  I've tried it.  AoPc blocks weapon firing, but you can still wield weapons and reload them.  (And overloading a Nuclear BFG is done by alt-reloading)

Clearly, overloading a nuclear BFG to create a massive explosion is far more in line with your pacifistic beliefs than firing it.

OK, now I want to find a nuclear BFG on level 1 and overcharge it. Yes, it would be a YASD, but also a AoPc with 100% killrate.

No need for the Nuclear BFG.  Just start up a normal AoPc game and use the nuke that you start with.
