since you might happen to find a chaingun or shotgun before level 5 they are hardly a problem unless you are surrounded at spawn in an open area

given how few bullets you need for killing due to guaranteed max damage, ammo is never an issue unless you use minigun+triggerhappy3 even for formers

everything in AoMC revolves around how unlucky are your spawns, after you get hold of some phases (in AoMC phases>>>>meds) not even those matter

for anything MC non berserk just go int2 + Cateye, unless you get VERY bad spawns when descending without phases you should be fine

i don't see how OC makes anything easier, if you can survive hell underleveled and average gear (it's very unlikely you don't find/mod something better than minigun/assault shotty by the time you reach hell) what prevents you to do the same with 10+ more levels and full equipment?

the real game breaker imo is MC which allows you to kill anything before it puts their guaranteed max damage to fruition (as i still see tons of dodges in mc) as soon you get a chaingun which happens on level 2 on HMP+ (or straight away with OC, only here i can agree that makes stuff easier)

maybe adding picking up/ dropping items istantly? like, you're running at 2% hp from some barons towards the stairs but leaving that Onyx pack there would be a waste but oh no! inventory full and dropping something + picking up would mean just getting killed, you wish you'd picked juggler last level up!

of course it would fit a very narrow set of situations but it's one of those things that pay off rarely but handsomely

yes but gunrunner blocks whizkid which makes it a no-no for me

Here, I would suggest that you can only hear the sound of entities that are currently within the character's vision (or intuition) range.

that would make no sense, you can hear a noise without seeing the source if within a reasonable distance, which is how it is now

cornershooting is a bug for the reason enemies can't retaliate, but what prevents a marine to expose just the weapon and fire blindly with obvious accuracy penalties (like it is now for out of vision targets)?

the only OPish thing about cornershooting is shotguns having 100% hit chance

what about a mod pack or mod comninations for bullet/pellet weapons that don't affect barrels (maybe with reduced damages)? when shooting with a modded shotgun/chaingun/whatever barrels are considered as wall tiles

players might consider to lose some firepower in order to secure items in unfortunate placements or to clear a room without filling it with acid/lava

how do you clear the vaults "by luck" as requested in one of the challenges? by nuke?

due to the random generated nature of levels i'd say it's undoable except for premade levels (which some of do already, see the limbo)

how viable are burst builds without MAc? the ammo consumption rate looks ridicolous but on the other hand playing without intuition sounds like a bad joke
