I wasted traits on Brute largely thanks to Mjollnir; once I realised it returned just like the mythical hammer, the idea of an infinite ammo non-rocket launcher appealed to me.

In retrospect I probably should have made the plasma nanomach first, but that's hardly the end of the world - although for all I know having to use an infinite ammo rocket launcher could have resulted in blowing up an onyx pack or BFG.

The nanoshrapnel was simple boredom; the nano on the boots was to cover inevitable mistakes when switching from phaseshift to Lava, since I didn't expect to (and indeed didn't) find an onyx pack shortly after building half of a cybernano.

This should have been a lucky run. Four sniper mods would normally be considered a blessing. Normally. Unfortunately, I was once again trying to get Technician Diamond rather than to actually win. Those should have been four firestorms.

Blowing up the Trigun got me a sniper pack; blowing up the first Anti-Freak Jackal I found got me a nano pack, so I decided to bid for cybernano armor as a backup plan to getting the Biggest Fucking Gun. Blowing up the second Anti-Freak Jackal I found in the Vaults simply made me angry when it turned out a sniper mod - rather than the onyx or firestorm that would have actually helped me. Adding insult to injury, the last missile launcher I found became a technical mod, not something useful.

This is especially frustrating after having aborted a run in rage earlier today, where I had just completed Halls of Carnage with two bulks and two firestorms, only to accidentally tape one firestorm to my modded chaingun. All should not have been lost, but disassembling the chaingun got me one of the technical mods attached to it instead of the firestorm I had just wasted.

All in all, most dismal Mastermind's Brain ever.

EDIT: Missing the Mortuary/Limbo was a mistake but I don't remember running into that staircase. I dunno.

I'm honestly thinking Arch666 after this just to give as long as humanly possible for the right things to spawn, even having not got Centurial Gold on the new version yet.

This was more an attempt at the "get all advanced assemblies" badge than at Ao100, so my inventory spent a lot of time clogged with assorted mod packs.

I only made the decision to go pistols once I found the combat pistol, and was perennially annoyed that the one firestorm mod I needed to make the demolition combat pistol never dropped, despite me disassembling at least 4 exotic or unique weapons. Including two instances of the Frag Shotgun, since I knew I would never use it and didn't pick it up the first time.

In retrospect sticking with Necroarmor was likely a mistake, but then I can't see how I could have got out of a nightmare arachnotron cave happy with the skill set I had and very few medikits. Also in retrospect, switching to antigrav boots was a wasted turn and led directly to my suicide.

Ah well, got everything but the VBFG9000 on the advanced list now.

Most of the mod packs went to making assemblies that I promptly disassembled in the hope of finding a mod that never went into them - two of the power mod packs I found used to be assault rifles for example. Still don't know if that's intended to work.

Requests For Features / Improve interface for Juggler

I've heard good things about the Juggler trait, and it happens to be a prereq for at leas tone fairly powerful mastery. However, as much good as it is to insta-swap weapons, I use a laptop and therefore cannot in any way get full use out of the trait.

To wit: I cannot use the numeric quick-keys, as they are instead bound to the function-keyed numpad. Nor will the game suffer me to bind quick-keying weapons to a combination of keys, be they otherwise used or not - tested with SHIFT+, CTRL+, and ALT+ for numeric keys, and with CTRL+W for the pistol quickkey.

This leaves me feeling rather short changed. I would therefore like the next version to either allow quick-keying weapons to a key combination, or - and I suspect this is easier - to modify Juggler such that it allows instant preparation of weapons whether by quickkey or menu. Since one can already bind new quickkeys to be able to juggle all the weapons you wouldn't expect to be able to, I don't see the latter as a buff even if it lets you instantly prepare all the weapons in the game, since that can after all already be done.

Stuck a bulk mod on an Ao100 run, thinking "surely they'll have blocked 300% armour, it sounds broken". Instead, it worked properly, the max armour durability went to 300%. Simultaneously, the text showing what armour I was wearing, and the background to that text only, started randomly changing colours.

The bug seems to stop when the armour is worn down a certain amount (221% at present, I didn't record the value at which it stopped). Not convinced screenshots would add much, it's reasonably replicable (or should be...)

Normally at the start of a level (and when they're genned by a lever) all monsters spend 4 of their turns doing nothing, giving you a little time to react to whatever situation you've been dumped in.

This doesn't seem to be the case in the starting level of Ao100. And _only_ in the starting level; it works fine when you've possibly got enough traits to handle it when a lost soul's dropped you to half health before you got even one action, but not when you're beginning.

Yes, I've been cut down to 50% before getting my first action of the game before. It's like Doomguy's the one held still for an action or something.

As it stands, to get the Lightfoot Gold Badge, you need to complete an Angel of Light Travel game on Nightmare!. This seems wrong, as it means there's at least one Platinum badge - UAC Platinum - which is strictly easier to get than at least one Gold badge.

With this in mind, I'd reduce the requirement to completing Angel of Light Travel on Ultra-Violence, and if anyone really cares, add Lightfoot Platinum with the same requirements as the current Lightfoot Gold. (Honestly this is probably going to be more of a discussion point than an added feature which actually affects me, it'll be ages before I feel ready to take on Ultra-Violence in the general case...)

Token commentary:
I found myself relying almost exclusively on the tactical shotgun in the pre-Ammochain levels. Guess shotguns are just better after all. Two miniguns showed up, I used the first for ages before deciding it wasn't worth it. I ended up responding to the "run for it" levels by camping the staircase and waiting for acid to kill all the monsters, which worked fine in all but one case, where a hell knight decided it didn't want to melt and instead ran for the stairs to meet me.
Maybe it's just my play style but I'll take assault rifle over minigun and, as shown, hyperblaster over some horribly twinked tech-modded plasma rifle any day, because MOAR DAKKA will only get you so far - and the hyperblaster, plus traits, was enough to make any one-on-one fight trivial, even a mancubus. I've tried Ao100 without Ammochain, ammunition becomes too much of a bottleneck too fast if you suffer from my obsessive tendencies to slay everything you reasonably can. (Maybe if I pull off a melee run...)

Now onto why this is RNG hatred even though I clearly died of my own carelessness.

I was carrying around 3 bulk mods at the time of death - and for most of the latter half of the levels. I was also carrying around a red armour with only a Power mod. The latter was a shot at Armourer Gold, as plate armour's the only thing missing from my basic assemblies list. The former was because I decided ages ago that if I could ever construct it, a nanomanufacture BFG9000 would be comedy gold.

Neither of the relevant unique mods showed up. At all. In any way, shape, or form. This makes me more annoyed than that I threw away Centurion Gold.

...So apparently you can get killed by stepping on a teleporter. This is pretty much the only reason I felt this was interesting enough to post - what the hell even happened there?!

Requests For Features / A "wait until something happens" key

Basically, I've had too much gift dropping ruined by the sheer tedium that just waiting would require, and feel that this function should be relegatable to the underlying machine. With that in mind, I'd like to see a command which causes you to wait a number of 0.1s intervals until the instant in which you see an enemy or hear a freed soul or anything else that ought to attract your attention.

While I'm here, may as well also suggest that the default Wait command should have a duration of "1.0s or until something happens" not "1.0s, always". It seems absurd to me that there should exist a perfectly reasonable loadout (Tactical boots/armour) under which it literally takes you less time to move back and forth on the spot than to wait for something to happen.

I'd have had tactical armour, too, if I hadn't managed to press the wrong button and waste an agility mod on a rocket launcher. Or if Hell's Armoury had been generated.

Once I had a firestorm-1 plasma rifle I'd pretty much won, it was enough firepower to kill a Baron in one action without chainfire. The technical mods helped, of course. After pulling that off, the only bit where it even got slightly hairy was the Mortuary.

Never really put the BFG to use except in the Mortuary, for some reason.

I would have taken a shot at a full win, had I known what to expect when I turned the nuclear BFG into a nuke. I was half expecting it to blow me up instantly like the Angel Arm so I became invincible before using it rather than after. That this netted me Cyberdemon Head wasn't intentional, though I love how I had enough firepower to take the cybie from full health to 0 before the nuke had finished counting down.

The Revenant's Launcher actually first showed up in the Vaults, but I ignored it there because an auto-aiming rocket launcher on AoMC seemed a bit superfluous.
