i don't see how OC makes anything easier, if you can survive hell underleveled and average gear (it's very unlikely you don't find/mod something better than minigun/assault shotty by the time you reach hell) what prevents you to do the same with 10+ more levels and full equipment?

the real game breaker imo is MC which allows you to kill anything before it puts their guaranteed max damage to fruition (as i still see tons of dodges in mc) as soon you get a chaingun which happens on level 2 on HMP+ (or straight away with OC, only here i can agree that makes stuff easier)
AoOC is easier than AoC for me (look at THAT shotgun). Now, add AoMC to it and you have just a walk in the park. Free exp is just everywhere, just kill some fat Mancubus ass.

While I like doomRL sounds, I agree that it's really sad that we need them to play.
Most of the games I play are not much different with or without sounds (puyo puyo, puzzle / racing / flash games...) DotA and Quake3 seem to be my 2 only exceptions, and I really prefer it this way.

I agree that a game like doomRL should be playable (with full features) without sound. It would be way more convinient.
I kinda agree with that, as it happens that I do not own headphones at one point or another, and i cannot use speakers, so ...

Support my old suggestions ("Deaf Mode" especially): :D

Reasons for theory:
Berskerk!'s story (I really must re-read it), Dragonslayer being a type of multiple-rocket artillery as well as a big sword (you can have one and not the other) and the aforementioned sacrifice posts (I still don't know if the daemons behind the wall are allegorically Polish or commies. Maybe neither). Now I'll probably never see it again for a few versions.
I may have not read all the Berserk volumes, but I have read enough of them to say that DS is not a multiple-rocket artillery...

The Devteam is doing a good job and has made a terrific game that deserves to be commended.  Again, I don't want to anger anyone and I don't want to undermine the great work they have made on the game, but I think it is also worth noting that the previous version was released with a number of major bugs (Fireangel, Destroyer Diamond, etc.) and this version was very nearly released with a major bug that would have denied people a lot of badges that I thankfully caught at the last minute.  This bug came about because of an emphasis on adding new features over cleaning up existing problems.  This is not to say that the Devteam never fixes bugs; I'm just saying that Skarczew has a legitimate complaint.

I hope noone is angry about this post, but just in case, this should calm anyone down!  :D

Implication being DS is tied to the Arena/Court/Vault storyline? If so, that would explain why I was unable to lift it in AAo666...

I'm back on a new run, gotten past the critical point where I'm at serious risk, and things are looking nice. I do have a Berserker armor, so I'll actually try to pick up Dragonslayer this time - who knows, maybe the Berserker armor is part of the hidden requirements? They certainly seem like a set...
DS does not require from you to have BA, unless sth has changed since the last version (I assume this basing on a partially recorded 2Dev win).

There is one problem though: I cannot imagine not going for YAAM!
And it would take months to finish game the way I usually play ("lemme think... oh phone... now I can get back to it, where I was... oh, I have to finish sth first... alright, I think I am able to play doomrl now...).

And yeah, new version makes it a little easier, but level really should turn to blue on N!... once all corpses are dead. It's annoying to keep a red level when you squished or melted everything, and while waiting some more 10000 turns usually ensures you forgot nothing, it's just not the best solution.
I agree with that.

Hopefully Kornel will stop adding new content, and rather aim for gameplay & interface changes in the following releases :/ .

What's wrong with YAAM and conqueror :p ?

We all hate leaving enemies alive, don't we ? Well, I could have just taken the XP, and run to the stairs like a coward, btw. But I like job done thoroughly, and usually don't consider leaving a floor before fully cleaning it unless an armed nuke argues against me (they are quite persuasive, I must admit).
Actually, most of people here are lazy pussies, and they do not aim for YAAM.

This makes your win even more TRUE :) .
