Discussion / I hate to start another thread about the Dragonslayer but ugh

I know it's not something given out and whatever but I'd really like a hint as how to wield this thing. I've had number of games drop it, and my past 2 games in row dropped it as well and (I feel like) I've tried everything.
I don't know what else to try and every time I see it it frustrates me that I can't figure it out, even with trial and error.
I'm sorry if this sounds whiny, it's just bugging the hell out of me :/

Went with a pistol build (sharpshooter is ridiculous). Kept 2 pistols, one for the energy pistol, and one for the storm bolter. Wasnt expecting both a sniper and a firestorm pack, just one. Figured the storm bolter would be the one doing the heavy lifting towards the end but 100% hit rate and intuition/tracking maps meant most the of the time monsters never shot back. Cerb boots helped with the oceans of lava/acid and helped me position right to take advantage of the 100% hit energy pistol. By about level 65 or so I was walking around in god mode. 80 hit points + .5s move speed + init + pistol doing 15 plasma damage every .1s. Used the storm bolter for the last 10 levels, dishing out 84 damage every .1s XD

No, I'm not being one of the whiny "whens the next DoomRL version coming out?" I know Diablo and Aliens were getting most of the attention for a while but since there hasn't been any Phobos Times articles since June (is that even being written anymore?) I was curious if anyone knew how DoomRL is coming along.

First Angel of Max Carnage game (thought everything doing maximum damage+almost always hitting sounded fun). Might not be a spectacular game to the pros out there but I'm pretty proud of taking on the Mortuary for once and for getting a bunch of medals. Most of the large medkits were for Cybie but he didn't hit as often as I thought he would have nor did he do as much damage. Last note: AoMC on HNTR is like playing DoomRL in crazy easy mode :P
Also, I know it was worthless carrying around all the exotics but I felt like it so meh
