Anyone remember the madness cartoons on newgrounds? I feel like that could be a fun roguelike game.
You're in a 25x50 x5 floors building, or about that size, with random guards and items.
Guards would pick up items and maybe kill each other and level up, getting more dangerous as time passes on. This makes a natural progression of difficulty even tho it is 1 statically generated random map. You can go up and down floors at will. Win when youre the last alive in the building.

Features: guns, modding, science, dark magic, mutations, destructable/interactive terrain.

excuse me, I now have to go and watch the entirety of the Madness series on newgrounds


on topic: there aren't many modern day roguelikes, and while it's arguable that that is for good reason, i would love to see one - and I'd love it even more to see one from the Forge! Voted for modern day.

Could you explain this is more detail or give me a link to something that explains it?  Can I set it so that pressing the wait key means I automatically wait until I'm interrupted by being hit or something entering my LOS?  I often take unnecessary hits from repeatedly tapping the wait key and not stopping the moment something pops into range.
Pressing the run command key - by default it's "," allows you to run in a single direction until you're interrupted by an enemy coming into view, stepping next to lava/acid, stepping on an item or coming near a door. You can also use "." as a direction, which will make you stand still while you wait - useful for waiting for an enemy to come into view. As Klear said though - if you set the maximum wait time to a high number, be extremely careful using it on levels where live nukes spawn.

Great run, haven't tried N! Ao100 myself - i've only finished UV100 once.
Nanomachic plasma rifles are fantastic - easily one of the best assemblies you can make.

BTW, does it count as a kill if you kill something and it resurrects before you leave the level?  Do you just have to kill everything once for it to show up in your kill percentage, or do you have to kill everything and make sure they stay dead?
If something resurrects, it counts as a seperate monster as far as killcounting goes - this is why N! YAAMs are so rare.

There were lots of times when I mistook a flying ball for a barrel, which resulted in a non-nuclear level clusterfuck.

You can use DOS Recorder I believe - and it does not need a lot of power, does it?
2Dev only averages 1000FPS ingame, there's no way he can run it.

UV ao100 is just about the only thing i play on any more save for N! AoOC when I feel like getting my ass kicked.

Well, that demo was made with slow-down, re-recording, and frame-by-frame building of demo files. No actual "bots" are involved. Looper might be an android from the future though.
I could swear that there was a post somewhere on a Doom site that said it was robots doing this run... I must be misinformed :V
