Discussion / Re: Original IP roguelike for the Chaosforge?
« on: October 30, 2012, 20:06 »
I voted other. Modern day games are over-done (though, I've never seen a modern day roguelike.) Sci-fi is over-done. Fantasy is WAY over-done (though, still my favorite of the three.) You know what we need? Dinosaurs! It doesn't necessarily have to be prehistoric, it just needs dinosaurs. Think Turok.

I would like to beta test on 32 bit linux if possible. :)

Of course it is :)
Great! I'm in debt now because I just bought my best friend a cool birthday present. But as soon as I get more money, I'll donate as much as I can (which isn't much.)

Problem is that here there's no reliable way to convert BitCoins to currency... :/. I'll look into it.
http://mtgox.com/ is what most people use, but I admit, it can be a painful process. Ideally, you would be able to just use your bitcoins to buy whatever you needed. However, unless you want to buy some drugs from silk road, there's not a lot of ways to spend them.

Actually, I just had another idea anyways. I could give someone some Bitcoins for paypal money on the bitcoin forums, and have them send the funds to your paypal. I think I'll do that. :) When I do, I'll post the email that will send you the money so that you know it's from me. Is that ok?

I also can't do paypal. I would like to donate in Bitcoins in possible. You never did reply after I posted in your bitcoin thread. :)

Discussion / Re: Found some cool 8 bit doom artwork!

That stuff's great! I personally prefer the current artwork, but this art might make a good mod! (Might be hard since they're not all the same size, though.)

Hi. I've just started playing DoomRL, and am looking for a way to help out. For the time being, I will be figuring out how to mod DoomRL, and after this posting a new modding tutorial on the wiki. I'd appreciate it if you would consider me for the following positions, as I have all the skills needed:

Web Administrator
Web Programmer
FreePascal-aware Linux Programmer
C++ Programmer
C++ Linux Programmer

Thanks!
Now that I have more time, I'll expand upon this post.
Web Administrator:
I have great knowledge of Linux, PHP, and Ruby, and have been the system/web administrator of several projects (Some mine, others for other people.) I would do just fine with all the responsibilities and example tasks you listed.

Web Programmer:
I also have great knowledge of PHP, Python, and MySQL. I'd really have a lot of fun writing the scoreboard and player database (I love writing file parsers!) if you will let me!

FreePascal-Aware Linux Programmer:
Linux and me are best friends! I understand proper Linux application behaviour/packaging, and have a basic knowledge of FreePascal (Not enough to be a full FreePascal programmer, though.)

C++ (Linux) Programmer:
I have plenty of C++ skills, and have worked with Boost (Though not extensively.) To be honest, I've never played with STL (Unless you meant SDL, in which case I have plenty of experience.) As mentioned a couple times already, I'm very familiar with linux, and I'd love to work on the Neko library!

When I started it, it told me "This mod was not designed with graphics support in mind (...)". I tried it with graphics anyways, though, and it worked perfectly. :) Nice work!

If you need any information regarding bitcoins, just ask me. I've been using bitcoins for a long time. If you decide to accept bitcoins, you can expect to get many donations from me! :)
