This is a problem with the music.  You can turn off the music, or switch to the MP3 version to make it go away.

This problem seems tied to the MID files, music works fine if you switch to the MP3s.

Just confirming that the problem listed at http://forum.chaosforge.org/index.php/topic,1479.0.html is still affecting Ubuntu 9.04.

Running 0.9.8.10 straight from the download, I get no music, but I do have sound.  Game freezes after a few minutes of real time, always when I am acting.  I have had it happen while opening a door and attacking a target.
