Title: [U/Ao100/YASD] Can't get this last plat badge
Post by: Cheesybox on December 15, 2014, 20:51: Finally manage to get into a late-game crawl with UV Ao100. Ammochain, plasma rifles, plenty of medkits, P-modded onyx armor until I can get cerb boots to use the Lava Armor...and I get killed from ~55% hp from...something. Message log just says I died. All I did was move one square to the left

How sure about that ~55% are you? Seems more like ~22% to me :S

[EDIT]: Ooh and you got hit by what must have been a Baron twice as well... ~45% maybe...

Post by: FlamingTP on December 17, 2014, 16:56: I hate it when that happens; it's a lack of attention for me when I've got tunnel vision on one monster or refuse to proceed carefully. It is easily the cause of death for most of my doomguys.

Post by: Sereg on December 19, 2014, 20:29: I stepped on a teleporter with full health today and died without getting a chance to see the new screen, so I think I've got you beat on burst deaths ;)

Keep at it, though, Ao100 UV is definitely doable (http://forum.chaosforge.org/index.php/topic,6536.msg57135.html#msg57135), it just requires careful play - and it's easy to get careless on a long grind like that.

Post by: Tormuse on December 20, 2014, 21:01: Bleah, that's rough, losing when you have such good equipment. :| Like LuckyDee said, it looks like you got hit by the Barons a couple of times before the Arch-Vile finished you off; I suspect that you were lower than 55% health when Archie zapped you.

This is why I'm a big fan of Ironman for this type of challenge; those late-game enemies hit hard!
