Title: Little thing about Computer Maps
Post by: Anticheese on January 19, 2006, 21:33
Ok, We all know how the computer map powerup (green ^) will reveal the whole map on that level? Well I think that it would be a better idea for all of the areas that have been revealed by the map but you have not explored them yet to be one shade of grey darker untill you actually explore them.
Not only that but the same thing happened in Doom I and II :-)

That would be sweet! I hate going in to a room and saying: "wait, have I been here before? Umm... well, I started here, and then I found a cacodemon here... and then... I think I came to this room... and... was that before or after the computer map?"
I think it should show unexplored areas in some colour we usually don't see, so we'd easily recognise it (eg. light blue)

It would be sweet I know, but unfortunately it's not trivial to implement :-/

I reckon computer maps are alright exept that one shade darker for rooms you havent explored (or light blue like thomas said) would be a great idea
