Title: Critical Error: <TSound/0/0> Can't open SDL_Mixer!
Post by: Norrock on April 30, 2008, 15:47
I'm running Windows XP SP2 and when I tried to start DoomRL 'Critical Error: <TSound/0/0> Can't open SDL_Mixer!' came up in the command prompt shell and DoomRL wouldn't start.

Halp?

I got this same problem. All I did is just restarted my computer and went back to normal.

Didn't work for me :(

EDIT:Hmm, perhaps part of the problem is that there are NO .INI's in the folder.

Wtf?

EDIT2: There are .ini's, I'm just stupid/blind. Also, I fixed this problem by disabling sound and music in the .ini, but as an obvious consequence I have no sound or music, so I'm looking at it as a temporary fix.

Try redownoading last version's package and check it's .ini's. Maybe there's something wrong in your's? Because i just downloaded fresh package and all worked fine for me.

Also, second solution(and also more logical) could be that you don't have sound in your computer, so DooMRL can't run with sound because can't initialize sound.
