Title: Quick question
Post by: ParaSait on August 05, 2008, 07:41
What is the difference between a "polished" and an "unpolished" roguelike?

That's quite subjective, but DoomRL vs. AliensRL should be a good comparison. Both are stable, but DoomRL is playable, and replayable, well beyond stability.

So in fact it means not only stable, but also balanced and replayable?

I think the devil is in the details. A polished roguelike is one that has all the little details added that ususaly are left for afters, and doesn't have things that look "left to be enhanced".

Oh, and as the name implies only polish roguelikes can be polished xP.
