Title: Some questions about the 7DRL Contest...
Post by: ParaSait on December 01, 2008, 14:59
Yeah, I know, this is probably not the right forum and all but I don't want to make an account on the 7DRL discussion board (If that exists) just for those few little questions...
And at least you guys will know the answers...

Anyway, I got 3 questions:

1) Can't the participating developers "cheat" by just taking their time to make their game in longer than 1 week, and at the end of the contest they just give a perfectly polished roguelike? I mean, how can they verify that?

2) Are there going to be any more of those contests planned to be organised?

3) And if so, how do I participate?

EDIT: Never mind about Question 3, I found that one out myself...

1) Yes they can, but no they don't. There are no prizes nor places, so the only person you'd be cheating would be yourself.

2) Yes.

3) Simple enough -- when contest starts post to rec.games.roguelike.development that you start, then retreat to a hermits life for one week, and emerge with your shiny 7DRL roguelike and eternal fame and glory awaits! ^_^

Thanks for the information! So when exactly is the next contest going to be, next year or so? (I'm interested in participating, you see)

It's usually somewhere around March.
