Title: [linux] requred SDL mixer when sound and music is disabled ?
Post by: przybyl on December 04, 2008, 06:15
Hi Kornel,

I just downloaded the "doomrl-linux-09810.tar.gz" and extracted it. I edited the "doomrl.ini" file and set music and sound to "false". Then i tried to run the game by i got message:

"/doomrl: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL_mixer-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

so i download the library from ubuntu repository and the game started.

Well i really don't know if it is a bug, maybe SDL mixer is needed for something else than just sound...

Unfortunately the SDL bindings that I have for FreePascal don't allow dynamic library loading :/

Thank You for the reply.

Maybe You should write some words about it in the "unix_notes.txt" file for novice users ;) it could be very helpful.
