Title: Hell Knights and Barons Of Hell picking up stuff? [NOT A BUG]

I mean, are they supposed to do this?

I've noticed this many times. Hell Knights and Barons Of Hell pick up stuff like Former Humans do, and if they get weapons they use them against me, even if they're weaker than their Plasma Blasts. They also use useable items if they have them. I've actually seen a Hell Knight use a Phase Device.

It makes sense that they do, If 'Crawl has taught us anything, throwing fire/acid/ice burns up alot of your internal energy.

No, it is not supposed to be like that. They are not supposed to exist at all. What is supposed to be is some mundane exepriments in UAC labs.

Indeed they do... it is all because the good/evil genus that infected them, sometimes piety shows up from inside them and they dont want to hurt you plenty.

I hate it when enemies pick up phase devices, maybe even more than i hate them picking up large med packs.

How about we assume theese guys run off Doom I and II rules?

I hate it when enemies pick up phase devices, maybe even more than i hate them picking up large med packs.

Lets just be glad that none of them spawn on Phobos Arena.

Which explains why when I saw a Baron of hell and was looking for a FHS who was shooting me, but didn't realise it was the Baron! At least they didn't get a plasma rifle of BFG. That would hurt. Or at least be uncomfortable.

My best character, and first to enter hell got killed when a baron used a rocket launcher on me and i died instantly.

I would imagine in that case that the 'Baron would be the rough equivilent of a weakened cyberdemon

Well seriously, Weapons work on a flat rate of damage (Unless you count the SoaB class) and seeing as Barons are the next toughest thing to Cyberdemons..

Sure, they should. I mean, they have arms, right? What's to stop them from thinking, oh, hey, it's a chaingun. Kill the little nos fo a hctib with his own favorite toy. Or better yet, Unkle Funkle uses one of these. Why not me?


Unkle Funkle being the Cyberdemon, "one of these" being a locket rauncher. I mean, rocket launcher.
