Title: Inconsistent shooting around corners
Post by: RogerN on January 21, 2010, 12:25
Forgive me if this has been asked before, but I wasn't able to find an answer.  Consider the following scenario:

Code: [Select]
..#
..h
..#
.@#

The game always lets me target the 'h' in this scenario, but sometimes I can't actually hit him.  Meanwhile, 'h' has no problems shooting back at me!  What determines whether I can actually damage a target in this position?

A buggy LOS algorithm. Stay tuned, we're working on it. It will probably be fixed in 0.9.9.2.

Is the fix also going to sort out the incredibly finicky shotgun aiming?

Yes. But next version will be 0.9.9.1, so you'll have to probably wait 3-4 months :/

How much donations and bounty would it take to make that 1-2 months? :)
I ask in curiosity, as I imagine I couldn't get enough for it without going to the bank, maybe getting a loan... funding research on a time machine may be the only answer!

Well, the moment you donate, you'd get access to the beta. So...any amount would certainly get YOU a lot closer to it. ;)
