Before him 32 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
22 of those were killed.
1 didn't read the thermonuclear bomb manual.
And 2 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.
Some rumours though, say that the Cyberdemon was killed already!
Is he immortal? 7 souls claim to have killed him...
3 sacrificed itself for the good of mankind.
2 killed the bastard and survived.
2 showed that it can outsmart hell itself.

Finally I'm getting the slightest idea of how to play on HMP, and made it to Sergeant Major. I was going for UAC Silver and Veteran Silver, but died in the attempt and got Gatekeeper Silver instead. And a Gold Cluster UAC Star! I usually don't care much for medals, but 100 kills without taking damage has always seemed impossible to me, so I take a little pride in this one.
The one thing I've learned from this run is that it pays off to just wait around for some suckers to enter your FOV, and to fire blindly into suspicipous areas. Also, this is the first time I got Ammochain, and I have to admit I never had as much fun with a plasma rifle before.
I had a perfect kill rate until I met the charming couple of mancubi pictured above, accompanied by an arch-vile who just wouldn't go down. The three of them ate away all of my medkits. I did get that Arch-vile, but the third reincarnation of those mancubi did me in. Note to self: take off the Necroarmor before taking a beating; and don't forget you're carrying a High Power BFG and an assload of power cells, next time you're down to 6% health and scouting for mancubi.
So, with 18 Bronze, 3 Silver, and 1 Gold under my belt, I'll finally be able to experience the joys of Ao100! Playing at the same blinding speed as this run, it should only take me about 17 hours to complete...

Not too bad! And I see that you've killed Cybie quite a few times considering the number of games you've played.

Yes!
A couple more suggestions:
I see you put an Agility mod on your shotgun...don't! The accuracy statistic does not affect the chance to hit with shotguns as they hit everything in the firing spread.
If you're going to run an Ammochain build - put that accuracy mod on your rapid weapon, preferrably 2 of them!
Don't be afraid to redesign the level layout with your rocket launcher if you get in to a jam like when you died there. (Retreat in to the room you were next to make an exit to the right side with the RL perhaps.) That 'run' command is always helpful!

I would have rocket jumped south, ducked around the corner and kill them from there but when in doubt phase away.
also remember weapons can have more than one of a type of mod unlike armor

Those are mostly ITYTD wins, except for an AoMr full win on HNTR (marksmanship somehow seems overpowered to me, even without Gun Kata). I think I can get at least a partial win on ITYTD reliably, if I don't have the RNG against me. I've played earlier versions (up until 0.9.8 or 0.9.8.5 IIRC) but I put the game aside a couple of years ago - I didn't like the then-new mod packs at all, and I somehow thought the graphics version would be out soon. ;)

Thanks for the tip. As said, I never liked mod packs and consider them a necessary evil. When I find a mod, I usually just slap it onto the first piece of equipment that accepts it. The new assemblies make mods a little less bad, though. I'll read up on the subject.

I don't think I ran into trouble because I had no way out, but because I was bashing keys and stopped thinking. I could've easily taken an arch-vile and two mancubi if 1) I'd actually USED that high power BFG, 2) I'd taken off my Necroarmor, or 3) had given up on the perfect kill rate and fled downstairs.

I use it all the time. In the upper levels I even keep some small med packs for when I'm tired and need to be able to run.

It wasn't my position that got me into trouble in the first place, but I'll keep that tip in mind for when it does. Thanks.

I know. I just happen to have a *cough* very sophisticated and elaborate strategy when it comes to mod packs, which often prevents the practical use of multiple mods of the same type in anything more complicated than a pair of tactical boots. ;)
EDIT, after reading a little on assemblies:
Are you sure about armor accepting only one type of mod, Deathwind? Or did you mean basic assemblies?
On the whole, I'm not sure anymore whether I like mod packs any better now that there are assemblies. The combinations are just too scarce, and too obscure. If at all a player figures out what mod packs to combine into an assembly, he'll still be at the mercy of the RNG for finding them, and will probably have to sacrifice one or two inventory slots for them as well. Also, I propose that the nanofiber green armor be renamed to "Cheibriados Fan Club T-Shirt".
-
I meant you could throw for example, one bulk and one power mod on armor but unless it's an assembly you can't do things like two bulk mods on armor. Weapons on the other hand will allow things like three power mods.
All of this assumes you have whizkid.
-
Mods are a necessary evil, but a very worthwhile evil. If you're not constructing assemblies, the best mod (in my opinion) that you can slap onto a shotgun is technical: it doesn't increase reload time, but the attack speed is useful. If you're going MAc, Agi and Technical mods are easily the best, a plasma rifle with an agi and two tech is beastly. Two agi and three tech becomes terrifying, 'specially since you get the bonus from Finesse. Probably the best weapon you'll get, barring uniques.
As an aside, you don't HAVE to keep mods on you if you're working on an assembly, unless you're still lacking the item you want to slap the assembly on to. That saves a lot of inventory space.
Course, the problem I have with most assemblies is, yeah, that it requires a bit of RNG love in the form of a Nano pack. If there was a guaranteed Nano at some point, that would be neat. Although I do note that the Armory gives out special mods sometimes.
