This one will be quick, so the deadline is shorter! And by quick, I mean EXTREMELY QUICK! Deadline is 1st of October!
The goal is quite simple:
Finish Angel of Haste as fast as possible! (realtime!)
The rules:
- the Challenge Mode is Angel of Haste!
- any difficulty, class, etc -- allowed
- the prize is a custom forum title (under your nick) "Speedrunner" and Supporter access ONLY IF you post a Roguelike Studio recording of the run, or a video
- veteran players and people with source access are allowed and even encouraged to enter, but ONLY if they record the run
- past games and mortems do not count
- the run must be posted in the Post Mortem section to be counted (add a tag [COMPO#3|real time] before the normal tag), additionally you must post a link in this thread
- please describe details of the run in the mortem!
- if you manage to beat your own record, post a new mortem and edit your post in this thread (you can leave the older one also)
- in case of a tie, the mortem with proof will win, if both (or neither) have proof, the score will determinate the winner
- of course, cheating is possible, but I *do* have one way to check it, and I won't reveal it immediately -- just don't, this is a compo for fun anyway :)
You can record your run if you run it via the excellent Roguelike Studio:

Dismissed, and good luck!

<3 this rule.

This is my kind of challenge, my very first run was a 5:41. http://forum.chaosforge.org/index.php/topic,4725

I think I might just give this a shot. I tried one run, made it to 11 in thirteen minutes but spawned near some mancubi and barons, ran toward the red stairs but it was mortuary and I couldn't make it to the normal stairs instead. I think I could have killed the Cyberdemon, but that depends upon whether a nanopack works on a double shotgun like I think it does. Oct 1st plenty enough time to conjure up a good run.
Do partial victories count as wins for these challenges?
-
Yes, partial victories count!
-
tbh I was kinda hoping they wouldn't but it'll get pretty hilarious now and I doubt that this will be the best one.
part-win in 3 mins (http://forum.chaosforge.org/index.php/topic,4728.0.html)

Waaa....I was thinking about entering this contest UNTIL I saw this entry.
I quit!
-
that's why :(

Ok, a change of rules then -- but not one that will make anyone unhappy -- there will be TWO prizes, one for the best speed-run with normal win, and best speed-run with partial win. I'll throw in an additional prize if someone achieves a speedrun full win too!
-
Since no one entered for standard win yet, I'll throw my hat in the ring. No full win; I couldn't find invulnerability.
5 min 56 sec for standard win.

Edit: Oh crap, I didn't realize I had to record it...
Edit 2: Nevermind, it was partial anyway.

Nah... it's ok I guess... :P

I forgot to link to it though I did submit the mortem and replay in time: http://forum.chaosforge.org/index.php/topic,4763.0.html
I think Im in 2nd place or the standard win though. oh well.

Better late than never!
The winner is Zecks with a 2m58 run! Congratulations, and sorry for the delay -- I'll set myself a reminder next time :).
-
Congratulations to Zecks!
