Title: Crash in Hell's Arena [FIXED]
Post by: xwdishere on December 08, 2006, 14:13
Version: 0.9.8.5 Windows
On "Too Young To Die" mode (Yes, I'm bad at video games), while moving from Round 2 to Round 3 on Hell's Arena, after I killed the second wave of monsters and hit "y", DoomRL crashed. I got this bug dump, it told me to just write down the line numbers and file name:
Code: [Select]
line 743 of dfbeing.pas
line 544 of dflevel.pas
line 266 of doombase.pas
line 21 of doomrl.pas
Good news: The "save on crash" feature works. That's really handy.
I didn't get this again when I tried to duplicate the bug.

Also, can somebody tell me if the green walls are supposed to be in the game?

Green walls is indestructabe walls(indestructible to all, except one thing, that are destroying everything))

A Range Check error :|. No idea... I'll try to provide a safety mechanism for that in the next version...

I've gotten this crash a few times, and I'm pretty sure that it happens when the last monster in a wave is a cacodemon who gets killed by the explosion of it's own projectile. I haven't tried to seriously test it, but for me, the crash always seems to happen when that situation occurs, and never at any other time- and it makes sense that it might confuse the game, since the player didn't actually kill the last monster.

Haven't posted in a while, but I just wanted to say I'm really enjoying the new version. It seems like it's  even harder than the last one, though that may be my perfectionist streak coming out. I always have to try to become the arena champion, rare as it is that I actually manage to do it...
