Title: Poll : Removing "Places Visited"
Post by: Kornel Kisielewicz on December 19, 2006, 07:50
Okay, I'm working on making the post mortem history a little more interesting (as Derek suggested). I made it so, that post mortem history records not only the special levels you visited, but also their "outcome". Now I noticed tough that there's a duplication of data in the mortem.txt -- the places visited now seems obsolete... Maybe remove it altogether? If not, then why?

You mean duplication right above statistics? If so and you made History more interesting, then it is useless and you can remove it.

I'll take the liberty to post an example from what Kornel said on IRC today:

<Evil|infinite>   On level 3 he entered Hell's Arena.
<Evil|infinite>   He left the Arena before it got too hot.
<Evil|infinite>   On level 13 he witnessed the Wall.
<Evil|infinite>   He massacred the evil behind the Wall!

I say remove the visited special levels since clearing/fleeing a level implies that you entered it.

One line per level seems more elegant:

On level 3 he entered Hell's Arena. He left it before it got too hot.
On level 13 he witnessed the Wall. He massacred the evil behind the Wall!

I thought more along the lines of
On level 3 he fled from Hell's Arena before it got too hot.
On level 13 he massacred the evil behind the Wall!

But I think it is useful to know what kind of levels did out poor marine run with (for example, if he got lots of complexes or he had to battle through caves...)

Perhaps it may be kept with multiplication marks (He battled through a complex (x5) ) etc.?
