After starting over (http://"http://forum.chaosforge.org/index.php/topic,5750.0.html") with a pretty good run, I decided to go for AoB Gold, but kept getting my ass kicked. Then at last I got lucky and got Necroarmor in an early vault, which made the game a walk in the park. It works really well with Vampyre. So what happened? I forgot to watch my health and died stupidly early in hell with inventory full of medpacks and phases and 100% kills up to that point (not counting the revenant that killed me).
So I decided to try a pacifist run for a change of pace, since I always liked that challenge. I got a lucky run and scored Gold badge on my first try, plus some nice medals.

As of yet I haven't gotten the hang of these pacifist runs. How do you not get shot to pieces within 3 levels?

Well, you just keep... moving. The traditional start for AoPc is Marine HR, which gives you slightly more HP to take damage, and slightly more speed to move. Diagonal movements are your friends, as is running mode.
Medpacks should not be hoarded -- there is no strategy for medpack use except don't wait till it is too late to apply, since you need time to use the medpack, and time to activate run mode and keep moving.
Other than that, it's up to the whims and fancies of the RNG.

It's all about running. And luck.
I encourage you to give it a few more tries - it will teach you how to use the run command correctly, how to search levels efficiently etc. You still need a little luck though, but that is the case with all challenges. That's why I was so surprised to pull this off on my first try...
-
I think I just might, since I really like the idea. I think I'm going to try and earn all bronze and silver badges first now. I need more gold and first blood in the platinum range for my next rank, which feels a little out of my league. Hell I had to use nearly every trick I could find to get my last promotion...

Did a Pacifist run yesterday, and made it all the way to the Anomaly. Unfortunately, with little armor, no phase and obviously no RL, I was toast before I got to the 2nd door...
Although this level can be rediculous, what about the Tower of Babel? The regular 'exit' is off-limits...

There's a special exit on there just for our pacifist friends. It requires quite the run, though...
-
Yeah, I guessed so... First I'm going to have to make it that far though...
-

Please explain this one, since I haven't used the run command (on AoPc) yet. I normally only use it to run/wait, or to traverse levels when I know they're clear. And especially when you want to move in a zigzag pattern, run is useless...
-
Ech.. sorry. Meant running by tab. That you'll learn not to save it for later, that if you are going to pick up a health globe, you might as well run to it, since it will reset you back to cautious and that sort of thing. The other run command is pretty useless for pacifists =)
