So, for practice for future UV runs, I am doign a few AoMC runs. Sure, it's not pureblood practice (read: easy to kill enemies), it still good for practice avoiding actual damage, which is pretty much the whole point.

Revenant's Launcher and Medical Powerarmor were the uniques of the day. Neither got used, Revenant's Launcher because I had just gotten Ammochain in Hell's Armory, and Medical Powerarmor because I was wearing onyx-modded red armor.

Hell's Armory was very generous today. Not only did I find the Revenant's Launcher, but I managed to actually clear the whole thing out no damage, getting me my first Shambler's Head which gave me Heroic Silver (Cyberdemon's Head also contributed). But that's not all. The reward for fulyl clearing the place out? A Nano AND an Onyx pack. I wanted to make lava boots (Which would have helped in the Late Deimos/Hell "Khe he he, this will be a mess" levels) and powered red, but seeing how much experience I was getting, I went for onyx-modded red and then would replace with Nanofiber Skin Red.

I had actually cleared out all the special levels (Yes, even City of Skulls and Mortuary), except, of course, for Unholy Cathedral. Had I kept the chainsaw from Chained Court, held it through inventory shortages I think I would have actually done UC and gotten my first Explorer AND Conqueror medals. But, alas...so close, yet so far...

Gatekeeper Gold comes straight from an invulnerability sphere before Tower of Babel AND having the Cyberdemon start right next to me (Well, not right next to me, but close enough to only take a few steps to find).

Next I'll probably be completely crazy, but I will probably go for UV AoMC. I'm not kidding. :)

JC...had a bit of a rough start with him knocking me around, but only had to use 1 large med-pack, and after I got him into my sights, he fell very quickly.

~160 more arch-viles for Arch-Vile rank, 2 more gold and 1 platinum for Major rank.

So I do not have to make yet another thread, I'm just gonna add another run here: An AoOC YAAM/YAVP/YAFV (Don't know which).

Because I got Daredevil Gold, it counts at least for YAVP, but whether or not it counts for YAFV, I don't know.

Run was fairly basic (Excpet for one part where I got Baron Rushed, which is a bit more deadly than getting Zerg Rushed) except for the battle against JC. Start was fairly basic, me firing mah plasma rifle at his face. Then he created the first set of Hell Knights, and that's where everything went downhill. After getting bombarded by attacks, I had to phase away. After heading right for a bit, I started to encounter increasing knights and barons. Finally I went all of nothing and used my other phase device and warped...right into a mass of knights and barons. Sirprisingly, I survived for a few turns, but I knew that I was not gonna survive. However, with my last ounce of strength right before I died (Read: when I was at 9% health) I activated my second thermonuclear bomb, and after that the hell knights/barons killed me, only to be exploded 10 seconds later, giving me YAAM. However, whether or not it counts for YAFV, well, the game seems to acknowledge it as a YAFV.

So-called "practice run" mortems are alright if you can talk about what made that particular run special.  That's the main purpose of the mortem forums anyway -- to share anything cool that had happened in the runs.  =)
