				Hi,

the game stutters alot soon after i´m into a level. Let´s say i can move three squares, then the movement to the next one is delayed. And that over and over again through all the game.

 My PC:
 4GB DDR2 RAM
 Athlon 64 X2 4200+
Gigabyte (dont know the type) with onboard graphics
 ...

So is my hardware to weak? Where can i find a solution? Are there any out?

EDIT: With the task manager in the backroung i noticed a good CPU usage mostly over 50-70%. So is DoomRL CPU hungry?
-
I never had any issues like that, with half your RAM and a weaker processor, but the graphics mode in particular is very CPU-hungry, yes.

Does it run better for you in the console (text-based) mode, or does it have the same problem there? And what operating system are you on?
-
I'm suffering from the same issue from time to time, but only very incidentally. IIRC, it's actually gone once a new level is loaded.

Well, I'm going to assume that you mean that the graphical version is CPU hungry. It's more cpu-intensive than the ascii version, to be sure. My laptop lags on it, but then it's a Turion 64 x2 processor, and 2gb of ddr2 ram. My gaming rig smashes through it, since it's got a Intel 3960X 6core/12thread processor clocked at 5Ghz, with 32GB of DDR3 at 2600 Mhz. I'm at work now, so I'll benchmark it on my gaming rig when I get home.

Alright, my framerate at the menu is 2500-2600FPS, and in game I get an average of 1000FPS, with occasional drops to 850FPS, and bumps up to 1200FPS. DoomRL is loaded onto my solid-state drives.

I'll re-bench this a bit later once my new GPUs get in, I'm picking up a Tri-Sli set of MSI GTX 680 Lightnings

Hmm, 2Dev. I'm afraid your rig will need an update to run DoomRL 2 smoothly :/.

Oi... if you mean that for CONSOLE mode, I'm going to get bloody angry.

Console Mode? Graphics version IS the new console mode right?
DoomRL 2 will feature 3D Isometric as the experimental alternative!

 :P

				3D isometric console

				3D isometric console

 Oh yeah...

 The possibilities...
-
I hope it will support true 3d monitors, since I won't settle for anything less.

-
				Awesome, I've got a 3d monitor, and I'm ready.
