The main download for me is 3kB/s, would a mirror download fix this?

Hmm, interesting, that shouldn't be the case - where are you located? Does the forum work slow for you?

I live in Indonesia. The forums were really slow before but now they are alright. I just checked the download speed from your servers and it is at 100kB/s, so I'm not sure what was wrong yesterday.
