Title: Tips for Arena Gold?
Post by: Sereg on May 04, 2013, 21:29: I'd like to grab this(and Marksman Gold) in the near future, but I'm not really sure how to proceed.

Any thoughts on class and build order to make this a more viable challenge? I've done a couple attempts with Intuition for blind shooting from safety, but I simply don't have the damage/accuracy to do it this way.

Seems like I'll have to go for Dualgunner to put out enough damage to kill things safely here, and I also suspect I need a decent amount of luck with medkits/health orbs on Phobos 1.

Are there any better strategies out there? Is Marine or Scout the superior class for this?

I've tried this challenge numerous times across multiple versions, without success... I don't even want to think about Platinum/Diamond for this badge...

Post by: Fanta Hege on May 04, 2013, 22:33: Scout with dualgunnar is your best bet. The speed helps a lot against the demons and getting cover.
Corner shoot like a maniac and hope that you get good luck with health on the level prior

Also be careful with dual reloading. It's better to single reload and single pistol finish off an enemy than dual reload and lose a chunk of health. dual reload when its safe.

After that it's all a matter of hoping you don't get sandwiched between two [caco]demons when the waves spawn.

Post by: Klear on May 05, 2013, 04:36: Just play a lot of AoMr games. Pretty soon you'll learn to play well enough that Arena Gold won't even seem to be too much of a challenge.

Edit: In any case, Dualgunner is probably the way to go. All classes have useful bonuses, so choose according to what master (if any) you want to pursue after the arena...
