Title: Angel/Archangel of Red Alert nuke killcount with inv globes
Post by: papilio on September 02, 2014, 05:08

In AoRA/ArchAoRA, if you find a inv globe and take it just before nuke explodes,
then every monsters in that floor is included in the kill count. (Am I right?)

Quartermaster Angelic badge requires clearing ArchAoRA on UV with 80+% kills,
but since one can save on UV, so some might can get this easily by savescumming (load until inv globe appears).

I think these kill count (Inv+Nuke that you didn't installed) should be excluded (except for Cyberdemon/SMM/JC).

Yes, surviving the nuke awards you with the monsters kills.

Savescumming would produce some quite suspicious mortems, since you can see how many times one saves himself. There's little reason that would force a player to save 20+ times outside of Ao100/666.

And to add to this, invulns are not normally found before level 7 outside of vaults.

That you might even consider savescumming for achievements/badges shows that the notion of honour system is not even something you are considering.

If the purpose is to satisfy the internal completionist, congratulations.  But if the purpose is to brag about the not-so-honourable achievement, I will not look highly upon it at all, and will even go as far as labelling the one who did it as a cheater.

I feel as though any non nightmare badge can be easily achieved by the the use of save scumming. I don't think the slight shortcut the invulnerability globe would provide is going to make much of a difference in that regard.
