...and I'm definitely out of practice.

I'm a few gold badges short of my next skill rank, so I was trying to knock out UAV and Veteran in one go, with my default Shottyman -> Ammochain -> Whizkid build. I think I devoted too many inventory slots to future Whizkid assemblies, because I didn't have enough armors and heals to survive the situation involving Viles and Mancubi that ended up finishing me. I may have to take a look at some of the other Golds remaining open before I try for these again, and get back into practice.

I've been lurking, occasionally, but haven't been playing much. Looking forward to Jupiter Hell, mostly, but I saw a thread (http://forum.chaosforge.org/index.php/topic,7884.0.html) by another player getting back into DoomRL with the Ammochain build, which inspired me momentarily, lol.

What I want to know is what you were planning to do with that Nano mod!  :o  A very lucky find considering you didn't visit Hell's Armory/Deimos Lab or...  any levels?  :S  Not even Chained Court?  (I consider CC a must for any run; all that berserk power makes for easy experience)  And what happened to the red armour from Phobos Anomaly?  That would've been a big help against that Mancubus at the end.  (Don't know if it would've saved you; it looks like you were in a pretty crappy situation in the end, surrounded by all those big enemies)

EDIT:  PS Welcome back!  :D  Even out of practice, getting to the end of Deimos in UV takes skill.  I'm sure you'll do better next time.  :)

Very lucky, yes - I was thinking about using it on my super shotgun. That's a fun, and rather useful, assembly, but Whizkid wasn't quite there yet(neither were the P mods, to be honest).

And yeah, I avoid special levels like the plague, generally - I have never gotten Explorer, much less Conqueror, and while I generally don't mind Hell Arena/Chained Court, I figured it was safer to avoid them on my first game back, especially on UV.

Red armor was gone by then, I'd had a rough time even before that point, ever since mancubi started appearing, and worse since viles showed up. If memory serves, I had actually just lost my last set of red right before finding an armor shard, and was regretting it, expecting I'd probably need it shortly. Well, I did, and it wasn't there =P
