Title: Cruel level start

This is also on easy. I think its little unfair(although I had a phase device). I don't mind monsters in my LOS but not next to me. I also had one of these rooms on easy filled with lost souls on level 2 or 3. I died real quick.

I suggest limiting the monsters in LOS on start. Like, maybe 3 or 4.

If that's on level start, wouldn't you have had some time to run out the door before anything started attacking?

I had this exact situation on level 3 with a knife !

Correction : level 2 with a knife.

Actually I think it's fun :P. Both situations are survivable because of the "warmup". And on later levels you DO have a phase device for such emergencies, do you :P?

Fun??? I beg to differ! This has happened to me in such ways that it was ~0% possible to make it out alive, and on easy difflvls: no PD (too early), no door (too far), and otherwise no chance (5 Lost Souls surrounding you in such a way that you MUST kill one to get through, but you can't, either becuase all you have is a knife or because all you have is an unmodded pistol. Even with a SG this is damn hard, considering warmup for LS's about 2 turns, which is enough to kill 1 and a half and then get nibbled to death! A CG or CmbtSG're far more survivable).

If you have a gun when surrounded by lost souls like that, I'd just take my chances blasting the barrel, and hope the explosion kills them before me. Not pleasant, but survivable...barely. However, on AoB?...Yeah, you're dead.

But the point still stands. This might be fine a little later on, but in the first couple levels of the game, it's overkill. I've had it happen to me on AoM once (on the second level), with nothing explosive in the room, and a lost soul guarding the door...I was able to kill two before I was torn apart.
