And lo, I was greatly blessed by the RNG
I didn't plan to do Hell's Armory, since the rewards aren't great for an AoSg, but I was cut off from the regular stairs down by some acid. Just as well, since that was the one and only double shotgun all run.
Onyx armor on L12 was nice, but with the amount of red armor I found, probably not necessary.
The level before the spider's lair contained a megasphere (one of 2 that I found) and an invulnerability globe in the room next to the stairs. Really, it would have been rude not to enter.
Mortuary was easier than I remember it being. I think that's partially because I used a homing phase device. The Archviles aren't quite so tough if you're not in the middle of them. Mostly, of course, it was the combat shotgun and army of the dead. I was killing things very quickly.

On level 22 he was foolish enough to enter the Mortuary!

He managed to clear the Mortuary from evil!
On level 23 he found the Minigun!
On level 23 he entered the Lava Pits.
He decided it was too hot there.
Then at last he found Phobos Arena!

Requests For Features / User Interface changes

Two suggestions:
1) I play on a laptop, without a keypad. As such, I've rebound the movement commands away from the arrow keys. However, the ingame menus still require the arrow keys for navigation, which is a little disorienting. As such, would it be possible to make either or both of these changes:

- If the movement keys are changed, allow the new movement keys to move around the menus
- Allow binding multiple keys to a single command, so we could move with either WASD or the arrow keys
