2 resets it to default.  1 is the only thing I've tried that changes it, and the tiles are way too small for me there.

Hey, folks,

Last year, I posted in this thread about fixing my resolution so that it wasn't so small, and now that I'm starting DoomRL back up, I followed the instructions I followed last year, and now the tiles are way too small!  The instructions I received last year were as follows:

Quote
There should be some parameters in config.lua near the top with words like "Windowed" and "Fullscreen": these are probably what you're looking for. I forget the exact names, but there's probably something that sounds like "WindowedScreenWidth" and "WindowedScreenHeight", which would be used to set the resolution of the windowed game (similar for Fullscreen).

This doesn't do much for me if I change the values to 1680x1050.  Someone else said that changing the TileMult to 1 instead of -1 would provide the smallest tiles possible.  I do not want that.  How can I fiddle with this until it's an appropriate size for my preferred experience?  I find it hard to believe I can only have two choices!  Thanks in advance for your help.

I did pick up the chainsaw in the Chained Court.

I was doing an Angel of Marksman run and just got this same error.  I wasn't holding a melee or anything.  Two combat pistols.  I used a homing device, and landed on a metric ton of death by the staircase.  Imps, barons of hell, and former commandos.  I didn't catch all of the text, but a bunch of stuff died, because the baron nailed me with a rocket and I heard lots of "ARGH!" sounds.  Then I died, and crashed.

Same windows and version as this fella.

Res set and fixed up.  Thanks to both!

I notice some people have a larger resolution for this game.  My computer can certainly handle a bigger res (zoomed out to see entire floor in full screen), but I'm not sure how to go about doing that.  Can't find it in the config file.  Anyone?  Thanks in advance.

Hi.  So, I'm here to document not only my first full win, but my first win--period.  I'm still learning the ropes of the game, so much of this run was experimentation, finding out what items do, and clumsily wasting items (like skulls, which I still have no clue about).  Anyway, it was an adrenaline-infused run for me, as I ventured deeper and deeper into Inferno, daring to push the limits of the Mortuary and the Unholy Sanctuary, or whatever it's called (the melee-only place).  I didn't complete either, but I came damn close to beating the Mortuary.  I ran out of ammo, of all things, and was forced to fight on the next floor with nothing but a chainsaw until I found some supplies.  Energy cells were low throughout as I held my trusty plasma shotgun close.  Near the end of my run, I grabbed an assault shotgun, and was able to use my supply of shells that I stubbornly held onto.  No master traits whatsoever, except for a few of the smaller ones (intuition and shotgunnery or whatever it's called).  Nearly died to the boss of the sanctuary, but a homing device saved me.  No clue how I'm supposed to beat that guy without a huge supply of meds, or a secret awesome melee I have yet to find.  Having two BFGs proved useful in some of the tougher rooms, like the Mortuary.  Four shots back to back without slowing down to reload was nice, but probably unnecessary.  Blindly slapped mods onto equipment after my plasma shotgun and phaseshift armor held three mods each.  Finally reached Dis, thinking he was the last boss, when I had just picked up two Invulnerability Orbs on the previous floor, so I was certain that I would survive the blast--though, I had no idea that I had to wait so long for it to erupt!  I was worried I'd lose invuln before the time was up, though it has occurred to me while typing this that I might have been able to blow it up with my missile launcher.  Not sure.  Dis met his end, and I survived the blast.  Of course, the game wasn't over.  I moved on and found Carmack in the empty room, myself holding one more thermo and lava element.  I had no idea what the lava element did, but I was low on supplies.  I shot off a few plasma shots and missiles at Carmack, but he unleashed huge amounts of skulls, and eventually more advanced demons.  I used the fancy eruption pack that I got earlier that looks like a homing device, but that only helped so much.  So, I popped the lava element, and, lo!  I was invincible!  I quickly threw down the Thermo, hit shift + Y, and shot off missiles with glee!  ...and then lost my invuln with six or so seconds left.  Crap.  I threw missile after missile at Carmack, hoping that I could somehow defeat him before time was up.  The Wounded Carmack died, as did I.  And the grinning exposition, etc.  So, technically, a full win.  My first.  But I had hoped to survive the run.  I might have been able to beat him without the thermo, but at least I can say I won my first real go.  Prior to this, I had only reached hell once, and died soon after.  Enthralling game, and I look forward to future attempts.  Thanks to the devs.
