Mancubi used to be a freaking walking death with their 3 shot rockets of cover annihilation, now they are just slower BoH's - they usually die before even taking a shot.
I'd say Revenants, because while you can outdodge commandos and arachnotrons, you cant outdodge revenant - you either take cover or stand and fight.

SoG 3 gives 0.48s dualshot, you don't even need Fin because of very diminishing returns it will give (with fin 2 dualshot will take like 0.41s, 2 perks for 0.07s)
tech modding your pistols is a bad idea for dualgunner, only viable during lvl1 to somehow help offset lack of accuracy

The problem with Gun Kata is that while it makes certain monsters (arachs, commandos, barons and mancubi) pretty much harmless, it is of no use against viles and revenants. Yes, kata also increases your rate of fire and helps you reload, but without SoB you will be seriously lacking in firepower for quick vile takedown, and no weak monsters to kill = no free kata reload.
IMHO, best defence equals not getting shot at at all, or only getting shot at when you want it, where you want it and by the least dangerous monsters.
Also, SoB gives you nice knockback, with power modded pistols any single or even paired monsters are no longer a problem as long as you have ammo (SoG 3 + SoB 3 + power mod = 2 or 3 tile knockback)

Finally, after being screwed in the behind by the RNG numerous times (3 arach caves in a row, anyone?), did it.
Went for old-style SoG-SoB build, relying more on tactics and awesome SoG+SoB pistol damage and knockback.

Had 100% kills until about #23, a tricky room full of viles, mancubi and revenants (vault inside monster room in hell city) almost got me killed, so i decided to move on not wasting precious red armors and large meds. Also got spawned in the middle of 7 spiders in spider cave, made hell of a run for it.
Took nuke on #17, saved up one homing phase, sadly no invul globes on #24...
Cybie was actually surprisingly easy with 3 suits of modded red armor and Ironman #3.

Why the fuck is it sometimes generated on Phobos Base #2?
On AoMR UV runs its impossible when generated on #2, and barely possible when its on #3.

Int needs to be on 3rd level, and you do not have to max CE.
Considering the abundance of exp on UV those 3 levels of Int are totally worth it.

Took about three dozen tries to finally beat cybie on UV, nuke + invul was a nice bonus and a welcome challenge to kill JC.

My first UV win (all others were on HNTR).
Thoughts:
Int 3 is a must, without it any "Suddenly monsters come from everywhere" level equals your fast and painful death.
Cateye is not worth it (we have int, remember?).
Hellrunner can save your ass a couple of times, but only worth taking late game when crucial perks are already acquired.

Equipment-wise, acc-modded chaingun + dmg-modded plasma rifle easily get you through the whole game, and BFG comes in handy in those "5 mancubi + 3 arch-viles" situations. Rocket launcher is mainly ammo-saving tool, since late in the game 10mm and cells become a real problem (thats why i have modded combat shotgun + shells in backpack, kinda hurts to spend cells on pain elementals...).

Necroarmor is nice, but only if you absolutely know what you're doing. Those %s it leeches to repair itself can really ruin your day in a serious shootout (JC nearly killed me if it hand't for his BoH meatwall).

As for tactics, hanging near corners shooting chaingun around them is a very viable one, helps taking down occasional hell knights and cacodemons early in the game.

Is it even possible to win on UV with a shotgun build?
