Well - the intention was to do the cathedral from the start which helps :-) I had the Angelic in the back of my mind but I've had to abort on previous runs so I was just trying to keep things going. When I found the plasma shotgun in Deimos Lab I knew I could probably pull it off. Once I decided to go for the angelic I knew I pretty much had to do the mortuary (the RNG loves not giving me nukes when I want them) but I was happy to see Limbo instead. Btw: The Elite is much harder than this badge. No AoMC to make life easy! I'm back to the old 'constantly dying on level 3' routine...

Well, I started off at the left side of the map and ended up dancing around the leftmost and second pillar at the bottom. I was being really careful only taking shots when I knew she couldn't fire back. I was safe - HR2 and Int2 pretty much guarantee a Masterminds Brain but it was taking forever. After a while I checked and she was only 'scratched' so I thought, what the heck, maybe the 'Tormuse Method' would work :-)

I headed to the top of the map and set things up exactly as you did. Int2 let me monitor her movements - it looked pretty random in the beginning but she consistently ended up in the firing line. There was one moment when it looked like she might escape, something like this:

It only happened once and she moved back down but it was a little worrying. At some point though the random movements stopped and she basically just kept alternating between being in the firing line and one step away. All in all it worked like a charm - she went down pretty quickly once I got going.

That video of yours is ridiculously awesome (I've watched it twice)! That bit at the end where you think your way through to a win has an almost mythic quality. Bet the documentary 'The Road to Everyman Angelic' would be fun to watch :-) (The interview with the Spider Mastermind at the end would be the best: you'd have a lot of hellspeak and a translator saying something like:
"Look, the dude had no traits and a weapon that did no damage and no hitpoints. Should've been just another day at the office. I don't know what happened!"

Of all the Angelic's this is the one I always thought was within my grasp. I usually play a damage focused game (lots of SoB levels) but this time I went for a speed focused build. The initial idea was to get another Longinus Diamond (got it before in 0.9.9.6) but as I went through the levels everything clicked and I realised I was on track for another Angelic. I guess it's a little tacky using AoMC to get it but I think this is a good platform to aim for an Elite :-)

There was a plasma shotgun in Deimos Lab but I got a sniper/power mod combo and chose to make a plasmatic combat shotgun instead. I thought it would make more sense because shells are easier to manage as an ammo source. After that I just rolled along - with guaranteed corpse disposal nightmare isn't that bad :-)

My first Longinus Diamond used the knife throwing technique but this time I wanted to do it properly. Between HR3, Fin3 and the ripper the AoD went down hard (although it wasn't damageless - took me a moment to work out the right rhythm to avoid getting hit).

Limbo was alright, felt easier than the Mortuary (first time I've finished it!). Helped a lot that I had some seriously big guns and corpse disposal at the ready.

I periodically ran out of plasma but never shells which, I think, validates my decision with the combat shotgun. Having a massively damaging melee option didn't hurt either :-)

And now I'm finally a full General :-)

I got lucky with the first 2 levels - nice layouts and I was able to farm a few hundred sergeants on level 2. Had a bad moment on level 1 when I got caught by a Mancubus/Baron tag team. I'd been camping so they were respawning faster than I could kill them! Luckily I managed to make to the level exit... Level 2 was better and left as my kill count hit 1000 - I thought that would be enough to carry me through :-) Level 3 had a great layout and an invulnerability sphere next to the stairs. I was doing really well when I got caught between a Mancubus and a Hell Knight, again! This time I was in a tight spot and what saved my bacon was a hastily slammed door (breaking line of sight with the Mancubus), an env suit and a mad dash to the invulnerability. I just made it! My kill count was good so I basically stair dived from there. Level 7 spawned me right next to a Mancubus Vile pack. Luckily I had a spare env suit and the stairs weren't too far...

I used the Tormuse Method (check out his Everyman Angelic - it's required viewing!) to take down the Spider Mastermind and it worked like a charm!

I get why everyone says this is the easiest Angelic to get - just takes a bit of luck and persistence. I had a great run yesterday when I found a plasma shotgun - was going amazingly until I ran out of ammo on level 6. Oh well - got it today!

No worries - your videos helped a ton (although you're a little too good - I just can't pull off some of those strategies yet. I find 'be very lucky' is my current manoeuvre of choice :-) ). Blaster was a great find - I've been getting really depressed since the RNG seems to take sadistic glee in never generating pistols in a marksman game...

I think I played about 10 Technicians to every Scout and the Scouts had a much better average - the Hellrunner levels make quite a difference in the early game. I just haven't got the feel for Gun Kata though - after Sharpshooter my game ramps up nicely but after Gun Kata I feel like things start to slip... Probably because I don't play it enough. My best run prior to this was a masterless Scout that was basically a Gun Kata build with a few SoB levels - worked really well too. I might actually recommend Gun Kata over Sharpshooter because it makes the early game so much easier and makes the 'run like hell through the anomaly' strategy much more reliable... Just take a level of Eagle Eye at some point because good grief do Scouts miss a lot :-/

Thanks! I'm not sure if I'll post on youtube to be honest, I play the console version and used a console recorder. I could do a conversion but I don't know if anybody would be interested enough for it to be worth the effort. If you'd like to see the run I uploaded it to my blog here: http://thescentedllamaofdoom.com/marksman-diamond.html. It's a 65 meg file so it takes a while to load unfortunately. If you're running on linux and have asciinema installed there's a 6meg zip at http://thescentedllamaofdoom.com/ttyrecs/marksascii.zip.

If you do watch you'll see I pause for long periods every now and then - that's generally me getting up to get coffee or to clear my head :-) You can use the <> keys to speed up or slow down the playback. Looks decent sped up but you see all the mistakes at normal speed (good grief, so many mistakes!)

Actually it's been really nice analyzing my own play style - there's ton of things I can improve on!

This was a very lucky game - I had a good supply of medpacks, great level layouts, lots of timely berzerks and maps and a power/bulk mod combo in the Chained Court gave me a high power pistol which I relied on heavily. This is the first AoMr game I've managed that actually spawned a pistol I could use: blaster. It helped a ton with the Revenants.

The other extremely lucky bit was an invulnerability globe just before the anomaly which helped me get through it in one piece. That more than anything else probably made the run.

Worst moment was the first door I opened in Deimos. I had to get up and walk around a bit to catch my breath and when I got back I got greeted with a rocket to the face from a Mancubus. I lost a very promising run recently in almost exactly the same way but for once I managed to do the right and the knock back from the pistol saved me. From there on the run was comfortable.

For me my biggest problem is playing too fast and screwing things up so I took a leaf out of Tormuse's book and took a lot of short breaks to clear my head when I needed it.

Overall I'm super chuffed.

Thanks! I'm kinda proud of the time - seems to be slightly faster than average for a UAC :-) Then again, having seen your run I can confidently say it's faster because I'm not as good a player - I skipped the Cathedral (didn't want my invulnerability to run out) and zerked up at the chained court and just ran for it...

So... While you're here and the forums are quiet: any advice for the Marksman Diamond? I've managed to get a few good runs going but I keep screwing things up in Deimos - I've underestimated the Armory three times now and got flattened by the Revenants in Deimos as well (got out alive but burnt all my medpacks - didn't get much further) so I'm tempted to just skip all special levels. The problem is the Anomaly uses up all my resources. My strategy there is to use not assemble the speedloader pistol but rather use the agility mod to try and get tactical boots. Then I run like hell through the anomaly and hope for the best. It works pretty well but you tend to burn through med packs...

All I needed was a to get a gold/platinum/diamond run. Turns out 'only' needing a diamond is, uh, tricky. I gave up and started trying for that ever elusive Marksman Diamond (I've been trying for ages now) and approximately 100 attempts a few weeks later I was... frustrated. That was awesome. I had tons of luck (three really nicely timed invulnerability globes) and basically did a kamikaze stair dive the whole way. So I've done it: jumped from Lt. Colonel to Lt. General in one game :-)

AoMs and Conqueror? Wow... Tried this once or twice but haven't managed to get a run to click yet. Definitely wasn't even attempting conqueror. Nicely done!

AoMC + Int2 + Chaingun is my combo of choice if you want one of the damageless Hell Arena medals without tearing all your hair out. It even works for N! but hair loss is unavoidable in that scenario...

I realised that I was two gold badges away from a very nice jump in rank. So I thought the best way to get a gold badge is to get a platinum badge :-) This run wasn't particularly interesting - AoMC makes things much easier as usual. But I've set myself up now for the next run - if I can snag a diamond/platinum/gold combo I'll jump from Lt Colonel to  Lt. General in one game. Definitely aiming for that now!
