loving the more aggressive fiends - here is a yasd of me not getting away from a few exalteds early on. however, i did get a chaingun on callisto L2, not sure if vaults/exalteds were taken into account with the drops?

nice run, the endgame kind of forces you to lock into rockets, 7.62 and plasma

scavenger activates automatically - just pick up an ammo and it will convert to whatever type the gun you're holding takes, except on rockets and plasma

i haven't encountered any unique 45 rifles, but would make a good addition if there isnt one there. typically i ditch my rifle for a rocket launcher as a long range weapon

General Discussion / scout UV win, arena not showing as cleared?

first UV win with the scout, the aim skills are a lot of fun to play with on this class. however, arena doesnt seem to be showing as cleared despite killing all monsters and getting voice confirm/shift to blue text. i also saw this happened in a previous mortem but didnt notice at the time. got several lucky uniques and advanced - early adv smg is probably the first of its type i've used in the game, and the adv 7.62 i found did more damage than a chaingun. also stumbled upon an emp rifle which made dealing with cri bots slighly easier, but they seem to get the jump on you more often than not

on starting up the game today i noticed that the load game option was available and it put me in europa L1 when i selected it, so looks like no game data was lost?

lugging around power mods through the first two branches to put in the plasma rifle did the trick. souped up PR is delightfully nasty even without utility damage modifier

just YASD at the summoner, some thoughts on the new version + mortem

- nerfing of technician helps a lot with difficulty in later game - as fun as it is to one-shot everything with a P3A2 chaingun
- chaingun still feels OP even with nerfing, it feels wrong for it to take rifle skills
- shotgun kind of feels weird now with doors giving more cover, i rather liked the ability to blast enemies hard at the risk of them blasting you
- late game ammo shortage is helped a bit with more enemies dropping plasma, but cri marines don't seem to be dropping any guns. i remember someone dropped a plasma pistol in the older version, but maybe it was someome else? i didnt encounter any plasma pistol on this run. 9mm lategame ammo shortage still hurts a bit, making an early pierce pistol's usefulness drop off later
- more stuff seems to be dropping 44 ammo later in the game so maybe next time i might hold onto the rifle for longer?
- ability to set gender? not sure how prohibitive VO is but would not require a model change
- could it be possible to increase the time of the idle VO? it seems like every time i get up to grab a beer i come back to insults
- dropships/teleports and more text are great. i assume more transition stuff is coming between special branches/levels too? levels also feel more diverse on this run, with different elevator placement

from what i've seen, the special branches/levels so far are:

callisto:
mines -> anomaly (archreavers - substantially easier now that they don't spawn directly next to you)
valhalla terminal -> valhalla command (bots, now two military bots so greater chance they'll drop a useful mod)
no special branch -> military base (formers)

europa:
biolabs -> containment area (similar to anomaly)
dig zone -> tyre outpost (formers)
no special branch -> ?

io:
black site -> vaults (turrents + demons)
cri labs -> cri armory (a shitload of cri bots, would not recommend going here unless you have really powerful pierce weapons)
no special branch -> ?

beyond:
arena (small to heavy demons - no drops?)
limbo (vars demons)

early exalteds gave me a chaingun pretty quickly and a P3A2 with the +40 damage mod makes things a lot easier. almost lost the run when i got mobbed by exalted regenerating resilient reavers but pulled through barely

it doesnt show the skill progression but i started out with son of a gun and did a pistol build through callisto. the rifle powerup i got in the valhalla command so i switched to the 7.62 and more or less used it through europa and io. in retrospect i should have kept my starting pistol instead of the rocket launcher and gone for the point blank pistol master skill instead of overkill as the final fight with the summoner got a little dodgy as it and the archreapers mob you and you take huge accuracy hits with the rifle at close range

i like how the game forces you to be spontaneous as far as skill decisions more so than doomrl - with drl i'd plan to go through a specific build from the beginning but here its about adjusting on the fly for what i need at that very moment. i didnt get enough mod packs to build a p3ab pistol (the game kept giving me bulks) but ill see it i can't get one on a uv run. looking forward to seeing how the ao100 runs play out with these kind of skillsets and weapon builds

finally joined the party! since i picked this up on steam i haven't been able to do anything else - i fucking love this game, thanks to all the hard work put in by the team. ive been having loads of fun getting my ass kicked on UV, and really looking forward to further updates. i really like how the game feels like DRL but plays almost completely differently. not sure if this is the place to post a mortem, but here is my first hard win - the lucky rifle +50% damage really saved my ass in the later levels. now to beat UV!
