(Linux) 0.9.9 A harmless EAccessViolation
« on: October 24, 2009, 03:35 »

I haven't played much DoomRL directly under Linux (using Qemu->Windows XP) but having run it a few times I was always confused when I quit and got a message like:

An unhandled exception occurred at $0805B203 :
EAccessViolation : Access violation
  $0805B203
  $08055CE4
  $08055BB2

After poking at the problem for a few minutes I realized the problem was that DoomRL was being run directly in an xterm I had lying around and not via any of the doomrl_* scripts. This would be okay, if my default terms where 80x25 and not 80x24. So to make a long story short, if you run DoomRL in a term that is too small, you'll get this message after you quit. So resize your term.

I think that a check on startup might be in order here. I'll take a look.
