Hello fellow Linux users, and especially Debian-derived systems' users!
Here is a .deb package of DoomRL v0.9.9.7 that I built.

http://doom.chaosforge.org/downloads page. It provides doomrl, doomrl_xterm and doomrl_konsole commands in your system. With it all configuration files are available in /etc/doomrl, and all the game files go to /usr/share/doomrl (including binaries, which is ugly, but I don't see any other way to package the game). Please notice that the /usr/share/doomrl folder will have 777 permissions — if that bothers you, please don't use this package.
Installation:
$ sudo dpkg -i doomrl_0.9.9.7-1_i386.deb
No manual configuration needed, no extra files added (other than /usr/bin/{doomrl, doomrl_xterm, doomrl_konsole} scripts that run the binaries).
