This WAS in the old forum, but seeing as that stuff did not carry over, here it is here! Even if we can't make levels for SP, perhaps if there is MP we can make MP levels??
Howdy.

Well, multiplayer is a far away feature... But I think a level editori is not. As for today DoomRL uses flat text files for special levels, and editing them is realy simple -- I would just have to implement a mechanism of integrating those levels into the game. I do plan a level-structure rewrite (for the sake of adding campaign mode) so this probably will be implemented (but no sooner than version 1.0.0).

What fun is MP-roguelike? Have you ever seen TomeNET? (and I don't really wanna think about turn-based MPRL - it gives me shivers ;)) ).

JimmyJ

Well, the MP editor was the idea of someone else on the old forum ;)
Howdy.

Mmm I might go against that, because it pretty hampers the trill of beating hell and showing off mortems if most of the levels is not so awe-hard and stuff.
"Nah, it's not that those ideas are bad, I'm just trying to show you why I think my way of thinking is better."

Yes, but perhaps each custom level set pack thingie can have its own post mortem file?
Howdy.

Lexman

Im all for an level editor.

JimmyJ

wootzorz, and to raise the problem of the whole mortem thingie, at the top of mortem for a custom level/level set it can say the name of the custom level/set so there is no confusion :)
Howdy.
