[0.9.9.3 Win] Cyberdemon vs Napalm Launcher

I was playing HNTR AoI, and by the time I got to the Cybie I was short on cells, but I had Intuition and rockets, so I grabbed the napalm launcher and started firing towards his position. After a few shots I noticed that he wasn't moving anymore. So I came closer and he wasn't even shooting.

After that he was just staying still in the large pool of lava outside my FOV while I was gunning him down to get my free buggy Cyberdemon's head.

Here's the mortem, just in case.

 Is he immortal? 5 souls claim to have killed him...
 5 killed the bastard and survived.

Of course it does. The primary blast from a napalm launcher is a huge wad of fire damage.

The usual set of destructive methods work on Phobos Arena pillars.
However, *the* pillar remains indestrucable.

If I'm reading this correctly, this is not a response reserved only for the Cyberdemon. Monsters of all descriptions (except for demons) tend not to path around (or through) hurtfloors if there is a solid enough wall of them between them and you.

Very few things fire at the player from outside line of sight, and he had Int2.

And Cybie is one of those things, no? I saw him standing just one tile away from my line of sight - I think he usually does fire at you at that distance.

Of course, he might be kinda shocked to see a marine with SoG2 and no pistols...

Considering that it fires rockets and is only 1 tile from you, I don't think he will fire though...

I think he was a bit further away...

Cybie cannot not attack from out of sight, instead he will try to move towards you.
He knows your location but he will not move into hurtfloors even if it's the only way OFF a hurtfloor. This is a holdover from his vintage baron-based AI (they act the same way surrounded with hurtfloors).

OK, I see. Somehow I thought he could.
If that's the case, the only problem is indeed him not being able to move. Everything else is fine. Thanks for explanation anyway.

Monsters will consider firing at you any time they (a) can see you (b) are not next to you. Even if you're two squares away and they have radius 2 or greater on their ranged attack. (Cybie is immune to his own rockets, but bruisers, at least, are not immune to their own acid balls; I've seen one deal itself the killing blow.)
