After trying (and failing) about a hundred times to do AoB on Nightmare, I thought I'd try an easier difficulty just for a change of pace, and whaddya know?  I got it on my first try.  :)

This mortem marks the first time I've ever beaten the AoD fairly, without lava-walking.  (Hence the thread title)  :P  Since I was berserk at the time, (from fighting the demons) I didn't even need to use a single med-pack!

Would have been YAAM and a brick silver too if my phase devices had cooperated and put me on the correct side of the wall.  (Oh well...)  At least I was able to send JC off with a bang!  :D

The best advice for N! AoB I have would be that berserk time is precious. Any time you spend not berserking you spend close to dying. With that in mind I usually make a dash for the stairs, only breaking to kill something right in front of me. More then a few times I've made it from the Chained Court to Hellgate with berserk the entire time, but I avoid exploring, because exploring is just wasting berserk. I noticed here you have 96% kills so my random guess is you may be trying to kill too much during N!. Even if those kills don't cost health, if they cost berserk time to do some extra exploring then I feel it's a net loss.

Given this run and the Arena diamond, I think you have what it takes for N!, but you might need to let a few more bad guys live.

Interesting.  Why did you get an additional level of Bru instead of beelining for MVm?

@AStranger, I was going to make a comment about that being very good advice, but it turns out that it's actually really quite excellent advice!  Thanks!  :D

@thelaptop, I read somewhere that the chance of going berserk from the berserker trait is modified by the amount of damage you do, so I gambled that increasing my damage might help me maintain the berserk longer.  I didn't compare the relative chances, but it seemed to help me win and it contributed to my first Berserker Diamond badge, so there you go.  :)
