nope.  both phase devices put me within sight of that same group of Arachnotrons.  the second did have a red staircase in sight, but much too far away.  and so close to ammochain...

I did get out - I started with a rocketjump (fired to the NE), then double-shotgun blast, then into the south-west corridor and they were much more manageable.  Shoot-then-jump might have been better, but I didn't know how many shots I could take before they woke up.

That DoomGuy did YASD though - trying to fire a plasma rifle through a wall instead of at an A.

having a guess about a lever can be so bad - the "air is really humid" makes me pull levers like a madman, if I'm on N! or there might be viles.  This backfires fairly often, since lava/acid room has no warning.

did you mix it up with another lever in the same room?

I'm just gonna guess that this is the new version, and I'm very happy about that, but...well, I suppose I'm glad I already took care of N! A100. (Gonna have to redo it for the next big patch, of course.) If it's not the new version, I suppose I'm just really, really lucky.
