Unhandled Exception and random crashing

Unhandled Exception @ $000B4795

I've had exactly the same error doing a whole bunch of stuff i.e/ Saving a game, picking up a weapon, view more info on a demon amongst other things...

I am running the Windows version of 09.8.10 on Vista 32 bit Home Premium. 

I also seem to have a problem with the game just randomly crashing. About 95% of my attempted plays of the game the game crashes with Windows dialogue saying "The program has stopped working".  I have never managed to get past level 8 and it's getting a little frustrating to say the least!

Not the most positive first post but hopefully constructive! :)
