My first full win, and if you count the graveyard BoH's, that's the 48 hellspawn I didn't kill :)
Every other attempt at AoMr got me gunned down, so I was surprised at how long I lasted. I survived mainly by firing random shots into the darkness, and running up to humans, arachnotrons and almost all other creatures whose ammunition I don't enjoy eating, and soaking up their melee damage.
No unique pistols so I was disappointed and expected swift death at cybie's hand.
That was until I found a thermie on level 24 an invuln next to the stairs down. Who would pass up that kind of opportunity?
Then JC was easy, moved away from the left wall so splash damage wouldn't get me, then switched from red to gothic armour and waited a bunch of turns while he summons barons and once I saw a single dot moving towards me (level 3 int ftw) I opened fire. The barons didn't move much.
I stayed still firing half a magazine (4 shots, both pistols M1 mod) then moving up or down so he'd miss me, switched to run to dodge when I had to reload or heal (since healing makes you cautious after anyway)
Then he died.
I'm quite proud of myself.
