Version 0.9.9, Windows XP, Windows version of DoomRL.
How I did it: When the message hit 1 second left, I went to the next level (I.E. I hit ">").
Other effects of bug: When I hit the ">" key, the game acted as if the nuke went off, however, after the flashing stopped, it placed me on the next level as if I reached it normally. It left me with the screen you see there. Of notable significance are the unusual green border on my name, and the obscenely low health. I could move around in the level normally, but in fear of losing my run the very first time an enemy so much as coughs on me, I used a large medpack, which brought me to 100% health and removed the green border.
Miscellaneous thoughts: Earlier in this run I escaped Hell's Arena with 1 second left, so I think the bug has to do with someone more specific. Maybe I had 0.1 seconds left to escape, and the act of leaving ate up that amount of time?
Details that probably don't matter:
*I was going the Ammochain route. I had Whizkid and Triggerhappy, all I lacked was Ammochain itself.
*In the previous level, I had all the enemies dead. I was dashing around hoping to sweep up all the enemies I could and escape in time. I was at the 2 second counter about five spaces away from the stairs (ugh), when I checked my inventory, and (luckily) had a homing phase device. That placed me on the stairs with (supposedly) enough time to escape.
*I had AIM, an AIM IM window, and YIM open at the time, and nothing else.
*I died later in the run anyway. Bloody mancubi.
