Yes, dying to JC now normally yields a standard win, BUT!..

The badge for completing AoPc is STILL not granted. Sad but true.

UPD: Just tested, true for _any_ "challenge complete" badge. Intended behaviour?

I can second this behavior. I just completed AoPc on N! without HR, unfortunately I was invulnerable when I set the nuke off, some Cybie went down and there was no way I could hurt JC. After a few minutes of trying, after he ran out of rockets and hadn't taken blast damage so I let him kill me. It counted as a standard win, but no badges.

We discussed this "bug" back in November. If you want your completion badge, don't risk it by fighting JC.

Unfortunately I can barely remember what I did yesterday, never mind last year. Although if I was really hard up for badges I could just copy my 0.9.9 data over, but I figured it couldn't hurt to re-earn the badges in the name of "testing". It helps that AoPc is second to only AoB in terms of my favorite challenges.

I was about to suggest that the official ruling should be put in the manual/help file, but I won't because I'll look like a fool if it's already been done. Reading the manual every new version isn't something I usually do.
